| Well I'm a big ole liar! I brought Blazer to the vet today for a blood draw (heartworm/Lymes etc test) and they weighed him, of course. Here I've been telling everyone that he weighs about 6 pounds, maybe a little above- well I was WRONG! He weighs 7.8 pounds! He doesn't LOOK any bigger to me, but he's almost one now, I should have just expected him to be bigger than he was at his last vet visit. I guess this explains why he seems to be wanting to eat more food lately... |

| Was he wearing a shirt or harness that added a couple ounces? Happy to hear Blazer had a good checkup.

YT 2000 Club Member | They do tend to fill out......glad he is a healthy little guy! I too got a shock when I took Teeka in last week.....she was 3.6 pounds from 6- 9 months. At 10 months, she weighted 4.0.....that was a shock! I thought she felt heavier! Even the vet was surprised!

Has Teeka grown any taller in the last few months, or did she just fill out a little?

| Well, I wouldn't necessarily call you a liar- a bit harsh maybe a huge exaggeration. It sounds like your Blazer is a good eater, which is to be envied. Is he a bit on the chunky side? |

I even made a point of taking off his harness before he was weighed- though I left his collar and tags on, I know those didn't add THAT much! Lol! Maybe I have just been in denial, he looks the same to me, size wise. | |

| One of my neighbors has a female Yorkie who is just a couple of weeks younger than Blazer and they are about the same size- you have to look really well to see that she is just a touch bigger. Anyway, we were discussing their weights last week and thought it was funny how they could be the same size but she weighs over 8lbs and Blazer only weighs 6. I even picked them up one after the other to feel the difference and she was decidedly heavier. Apparently not so much... Lol! It makes me SUPER curious about how the other pups in his litter turned out- the owner of the female says that she hasn't grown and is only 2lbs (and she was one of the largest at birth) and one of the big boys is pushing 9lbs, supposedly. I'm just hoping that the breeder gets an influx of updates when they all go in for their 1 year checkups! |
