Does this sound like a good deal? Hey! I need some input.. Well I might be on my way to getting my 1st yorkie! But I was wondering if this sounds like a good deal: 1 1/2 year old male yorkie, limited AKC papers, housebroken, likes sleeping in bed, playful, about 4 lbs.,baby face. So what do u guys think????

Make sure he doesn't have any health problems before you fall in love with him. Other than that it sounds good to me. Is he neutered?

As far as his owner said,he has no health issues, I'm not actually sure if he's neutered or not, I don't think he is,though.

I totally agree. There are so many questions to ask about this little guy. Health, socialization, children involved if any, special needs, etc. ' Good luck and find out as much as you can about him. He just might be perfect for you or be a heartbreak. Patience and finding out all you can will let you know if your home is the best for him to be. Keep us posted.

You need to know how he does with strangers, children, and other dogs. You don't want a dog who is going to be fear-aggressive. It is sooo hard to be objective when you think you've found the perfect dog. But as Schatzie said, without thorough research, you could be setting yourself up for heartbreak. | |

I agree with Villette. There are a lot of issues to be considered. I BET that there are house-training issues if he is intact..Bot Pat and I can tell you about those issues with intact males. Of course, that is NOT ALWAY the case but all too often it is. Then the new owner says "OMG, I cannot take one more baptism of my furniture!! What was I thinkin'?" and the boy needs to go to another home. Was the breeder his current owner? Did they keep him crated a lot or is he well-socialized and therefore, more receptive to training and a new home?? I am not saying not to get him if training is important, but I am advising that you learn all you can about dealing with an untrained adult male. Best of luck and let us know what you decide. And, any pics???

Kuhl - You need to meet this little puppy and spend some time with him. My most important considerations would be if he's healthy, friendly, and playful. Good luck! Carol Jean
