| First Groom Tomorrow morning I'll be heading to the groomer with Oakley for his first cut and I'm besides myself and yes, very nervous! I will be going with the puppy cut his first time. I can't wait to get this over with as I'm getting horrible images in my mind, lol. The other day I read a thread regarding the "visor" hair on Yorkies. Since my daughter won't let me put a ponytail on him, what are your suggestions when this grows over his eyes. When viewing some of yours pictures, this part of their fur goes to the side but not Oakley's, it just hangs over his eye. I will be sure to post some pictures tomorrow .

| Mia went for her first groom yesterday! Happy to report all went well, we just got a good trim and I'm very happy with how it turned out! They did trim around her eyes a bit, but she's a girlie girl and we are growing out her top knot so a lot of her hair gets pulled up. I was very nervous about bringing her! And lord, dropping her off and leaving her, was the worst! But, we survived!! Just be sure and tell them exactly what you want, look at some pics on the Internet, print them if you need to and bring them with you! Hope all goes smoothly, and post some pics! |

| Pictures Please accept my apologies for not posting sooner. My computer at home was giving me problems - just installed a new anti-virus program and was basically cleaning it up. Also, the app on my iPhone didn't allow me to post them either, ugh. Here is Oakley's new do! I took him to Petco along with a picture of how I wanted him groomed. I was shocked and very, very well pleased. I love it! The groomer did a good job!

| My DH also did not like ponytails and teddy hair was falling in his face so this is how I trimmed his face |

| Probably hard to tell but I just trimmed the hair above his eyes and left the rest alone. Did not trim any hair below the eyes. I used a rounded cut so the center is shorter than the sides allowing it to fall to the sides. Here is before trim |

| Teddy is so, so freaking cute!!! I did express my concerns to the groomer about cutting his "visor" and it came out well. I can now see those "puppy" eyes that I had trouble seeing before, lol. I could probably cut that part myself but I doubt he would let me. He was quite the handful this morning when wiping the gunk from his eyes with a wet cottonball.

| Awwww...Oakley is just so cute. I'd have given an opinion before, but I just now saw your thread. I think the groomer did a great job...maybe since you explained so well what you wanted. Brody had a 'visor' cut literally the morning of the day I got him by his previous owner...he was 14 months old at the time he re-homed with me. I am not saying that the pet store groomer did a bad job...just that Brody's hair grows such that, IMHO, he needs the topknot. Plus, I think my way of cutting him makes him look so much more like the Yorkie he is.

| My husband and kids did not like the bow and I did....someone took it out last night because when I went to get my coffee this morning, the bow was on the counter. I just may have to steal my daughter's rubberbands (orthodontist ones) and put them in his hair when it falls over his eyes ... I love seeing his eyes!

| Those ortho bands work great, just make sure you cut them out so they don't break the hair |
