| Poop?! My Betti Paige has started eating her dried poop! WTH? Can someone please tell me how to stop this and WHY is she doing this? She is well fed, gets cherrios as treats, peanut butter in her kong, and is certainly loved enough! UUUGGGG....this 3.6 lbs is making me a nervous wreck |

| Yeah, it happens for various reasons. The first thing to try is to feed pineapple. This has enzymes or acid (can't remember which) that helps break down protien in the diet so the pup can absorb. They eat the poo to get protien. Make sure you just pick the poo up as soon as you can. The other reason is they see their mommy dog clean up after them when they are still with her. Most times, the pineapple will help - takes several days though so don't give up too quickly

| and if you catch her eating poop do not make a big deal in a bad way. in an even tone teach her to drop it and say yuck........and then praise praise praise her afterward. keylo will now drop it with no issues as long as she doenst think i am mad at her. good luck.

| Thank you all. I will try the pineapple trick. I guess my main concern is why isnt she getting enough protein? I have her on NutriSource. |

| You know, I'm not sure why the protein is not always absorbed correctly. Perhaps the type of food or just her metabolism. There are some ladies here that know a lot about nutrition and stuch so hopefully they will pop in and help with this.
