| New addition?!?! First off let me introduce myself my name is Bridget I just joined today i have a male yorkie named Riley he is almost 3 years old. He is my little spoiled prince lol and i love him so very much, He is a little jealous and attached lol but my husband and i are thinking of getting another make yorkie puppy later on this summer the problem is that i am very worried about how Riley will get along with the new puppy and i really don't want anything bad to happen and i also don't want to not be able to keep the new puppy. I thought that it would just be nice for Riley to have a little buddy and he wouldn't be so lonely while we are at work. I have not gotten Riley neutered because i really see no need when he is never around girl dogs and always on a leash so i just really don't want to have to put him through that!!!! So what do you guys think also any tips on introducing them??? |

| Welcome to YT! Can't wait to see pics of your little guy. First I would reccomend getting him neutered, unaltered dogs can be overly protective and dominant. Neutering really does have a lot of benefits and really they are only affected for a day or two usually, it is not a big deal and you will be glad you did it. Does your little guy go to the dog park? I would get him used to being around other dogs first. When I brought home my girl dog my boy dog Chibi was 4yrs old and had been an only dog his whole life. I was very worried he would be jealous, and he was a little bit but after an adjustment period they became good friends. Just make sure you let Riley know he will always be your number 1

| might i suggest a female instead of a male......cedric is very dominate and i dont think another boy wouldve worked for us. he gets along just great with his two sisters. i would say you should do a meet and greet when you find a puppy you may want to add to the family. be sure he gets everything first when you bring in a new addition...first to eat, first to be petted...bathed..everything and try to keep his attention to the same level as before the puppy arrived. there will be transition time but hopefully it will be smooth and they will bond asap. welcome to yt and good luck in your search of a new addtion.
