YT 500 Club Member | petsmart fiasco Wow, I'm never taking my babies to the store again. They were so bad tonight. I had the smart idea of putting both of them on a double leash. What a mistake! They were pulling and dragging, barking, and just being bad with every dog they see, and people too. And little zooey was the worst. Even though she was being dragged by her 12 lb. Brother. I was so looking like an idiot. Never again!!!!!

| That sounds like something I could have written! I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I take my boys places one at a time now because they do not like to behave when they are together. And it's still sometimes embarrassing!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Lol. I remember the first time I took Clyde into petsmart. He FREAKED OUT AT EVERYTHING!!! Then, right as I was checking out he pooped ALL OVER the store. It wasn't diarrhea or anything but he started walking and going so it got all over the place & people were glaring.... >.< Since then Clyde has been better trained. I took him to "reactive dog" and "obedience" classes, but I still get all embarrassed when I think about taking him into Petsmart. Lucky for me, Dexter does great in stores and I can take him everywhere... but Clyde on the other hand ... not so much. So you're not alone with the whole "looking like an idiot" in a pet store deal LOL. I take my boys places separately because they don't like to behave together, either. Your little ones were probably having so much fun embarrassing mom ^-^ I know mine do. Sorry about the experience, though!! Last edited by Clyde_Dexter; 02-15-2013 at 09:03 PM. |

| Oh dear lol how embarrassing. I'm taking Mia tomorrow. She thinks everyone is her friend though and she must run up to everyone she sees and say hi. I usually have to carry her eventually because she gets too distracted lol I think she will get new treats tomorrow and I need to buy her a dog tag!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It's amazing how they can act so good at home and then act up when you take them out. I took my 3 in to Petsmart today too. But I had them their new carrier inside the cart. They can poke their heads through the top. There's no way I could walk the 3 of them. Pixie would be plastered to the floor refusing to walk, Cali would be going up to all the big dogs and Roxie would be barking her head off. I just walk around for 1/2 hour and let them pick out a toy to take home.

| LOL Brody and Mia, who is very hyper and incites Brody, do not touch the floor in any store. They go into a cart on their memory foam pad. But, before we got Mia, we did let Brody walk several times in Petsmart...so he could explore. He peed once and pooped once...we cleaned the floor...and has ridden in a cart ever since...not so much because of the elimination...because we rounded a corner twice right into a huge dog. One was an Irish Wolf Hound...who are generally very sweet...and was letting all the kids pet him, but who bristled when he saw Brody. DH scooped him up immediately and whisked him away...and he has not touched a store floor since then. However, we have to be careful in places like TJ Max...not to let him see us handle toys. He is very toy centric and if he sees it, it's HIS...and he will start barking if he really wants it and thinks you are going to put it back.

| I have taken all three to petsmart before.... of course, i took the stroller! I don't think I could do all three on leashes... especially if it is busy with other dogs and their owners. When DH is with me, we use a blanket in the bottom of a cart and all three are in the cart (with leashes on of course). I can keep the leashes taught enough that they don't jump out ... they really don't try to, but I am very cautious. They are away from other dogs, and can still enjoy the attention from all their "fans".

I put my guys in the shopping cart. My little angel Teddy turns into a gremlin. I always hold the leashes even when they are in the cart, thank goodness, because one trip, Teddy climbed onto the front edge of the cart when I wasn't looking. When I caught sight of him, he jumped and was hanging by his harness off the front!

YT 2000 Club Member | Sorry, but that is so funny! We also had a embarrassing experience one time with Tucker! (RIP) We went to Petco to look around and usually we don't bring him with us. Well he got so excited that, the first isle we went down he shot little turds as he walked! My DH was so embarrassed that he never got to go again!!!

| Loved your story ! I have had many times when I just wanted to make a puff of smoke disappearance. One quick story. I was teaching a puppy class and one of the students was having a really hard time with her poodle pup. I gave her my pup so she could feel and see how 'doing heel' worked. Abba was trained and about 7 months old. As I started my circle walk, I heard giggles behind me. I stopped and looked behind me. OMG Abba had peed on the student's bare leg and shoe. Then rushed ahead of her and had tangled his leash with the dog in front of her ! Man oh man, I felt like my face was going to explode and catch on fire. I blurted out "Ok Abba has just demonstrated how NOT to heel ! Let's take a break so I can go to my office and scream !" Every one laughed. Life goes on, thank the Lord for humor !

| These stories are hysterical! After such a "ruff" week, Yazmin's beginning to look more like an angel, IMO. : Thanks for the laughs, I needed a few! |
