|  New to the site....thanks for the help! Obviously new to the site, but can't thank everyone enough for the help with some issues our Brutus has been having "HGE" we believe. We don't have a vet near us (over 300 miles), but will have an update on Brutus's condition later this week. But after talking to the one vet we know and trust we and he believes we have caught this early enough and thankfully we will be in Anchorage tomorrow to see a vet. However, I can't say enough good things about this site and the information we used to promptly help our vet over the phone give us some help to get to tomorrow. Thx, Brutus and family. |

| Welcome to YT! Glad you have been able to find helpful information here ... that's what it's all about!  Looking forward to seeing pics of little Brutus and hearing all about him. Sorry he has been sick and hope to hear what the vet tells you. We will keep the little guy in our prayers!!

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member  | Oh how hard that you dont have a vet near you - what about a regular Doctor ? We have a few members in alaska or that lived there - I wonder if they can help you ? GOOD LUCK and I hope your baby is going to be ok !! |

| Well, good news! We are back home after being gone for 3 days. Brutus spent 2 nights at the vet's getting re hydrated and testing done. Turns out he didn't have HGE, but the condition was as serious and the vet told us he could've died if not treated promptly. They did testing for worms etc....and it turns out he had some sort of bacterial infection in his intestine. We are having to give him: Sulfadimet: once daily Metronidaz: twice daily So Brutus should be good to go and his spirits are high, which is normal |
