| Help! Barking at night Milo has always slept with us and thats all been good until the last couple of night. He has barked durning the night and we haven't got much sleep. What can we do to keep him from barking at everything he hears?

| Yea, these yorkies sure like to bark a lot... Is he close by and in bed with you (or crated close by) where you can shush him in a strong tone while gently poking his lower side chest to snap him out of it)..? Then try putting him in a "lie down" cus sometime redirecting his actions help change his mind... I would also consider putting some music on or a tv so he'll lose focus on other sounds in the home rather than the one in your room. Good luck |

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yup the shush command is a great one. Mine all listen to that most times. I would hold him close and say now hush. Do not let him go till he stops barking. This worked best for me with all three of mine. Good luck and keep us posted

| I like for my dogs to know it is good that they bark when they hear something but that it's time to stop when I am alerted. I use "Good Job. I got this. No barking." He knows "no barking" and it just took consistency to teach him the other part. My Yorkie follows his lead a lot. I'm still working with her on it, but she's getting better. I just don't want them to think they "shouldn't" bark initially, ya know? I like having watch dogs
