| personally i would not allow it.. is he nuetered ? my oscar used to hump his sister starting when he was 4 months old . we had him nuetered a couple weeks later and he stopped.. is the blankie the only object he humps? if so try taking it away for awhile and see happens.. if he starts humping other things tell him no and distract him with playing a game of fetch.. good luck |

| well personally i just dont like it.. i think at some point there may be a possibiltiy of injury to the dog (his private parts that is). i hope you do not find this too graphic but my male airedale terrier used to hump his blankie when he was a pup and 1 time his winkie got stuck outside of the skin and it was bleeding.. my hubby and i had to hold an icepack on it for the swelling to go down and it went back to normal.. no more blankie for him.... |

| I don't like it either. Buddy has never humped anything other than his male dog friends heads for a show of dominance (we don't let that go on if we see it, though) and Blazer has attempted to hump his toy tiger a couple of times but I put a stop to that right away.

| it a dominence thing and cedric will still do it to only one toy his beloved santa bear. he hardly does it but still once in a great while. once neutered that dominence drive dies down a lot.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Well to be honest i dont like it either but at the same time i dont see like is something wrong or bad, i feel like is away to relief him, i dont have any human babys or anybody around besides me and my husband, so i dont need to explain to the kids wath his doing or anything like that, if i had kids it would be different and wount allow it because i know kids learn everything they see lol plus they would ask a million questions haha.. Im gonna keep hiding his bed during the day tho and only give it back to him when is time togo to bed, he is gonna be looking foward to that hahaha well we'll see how that works out and let u guys know

| Some dogs do the humping as an outlet for excitement. They don't know how to direct that energy when they are happy or over stimulated. My advice would be to get him to exercise more. Maybe take him for walks or play fetch in the yard with him or inside. If he uses up that excitement on other things he may stop the humping. It sounds like he may be doing reverse sneezing when he sounds like he is choking? Here is a video of a Puggle doing a reverse sneeze and how to stop it. If that is not what he is dong then I would be concerned about collapsed trachea. |

| Uni is a girl and she's spayed and she humps. She's done it since she was about a year old. She only humps her beds. But she's had many beds throughout her lifetime so far, and every single one she will hump. it's like she has to break them in for something. she doesn't hump anything else, and doesn't hump people. She did hump her dragon toy once, but I think she's over him. I don't mind it and I think it's quite funny, so I don't stop her, but some people don't like it. You can train them to stop if you are persistent.

| my baby has started this up recently! he will hump other dogs(nothing in the house), male or female...he doesn't care. And he never does it right, he just jumps on their side or head. =p Some owners get really pissed off when Colby does this to their dog(understandable) so now I don't really trust him to interact too much w other doggies until I get him fixed. Hopefully that'll slow down his freakiness |
