| New to Yorkie Talk Hello, I'm new to Yorkie Talk as of today. I have a 3 - 4 year old male yorkie that we've named Chewie, short for Chewbacca. He got his name after he chewed by living room blinds. Chewie came to us by accident one day; he walked up to my sons work door, came in and said hi to everyone. He came with no collar and no chip. No one could take him home but my son and he's been with us since August 20, 2012. Since no one seemed to want him, we now have a new member of our family. One of my questions today is: What kind of bisquits are good for him? I've tried one kind from Petco that's supposed to freshen breath but he doesn't seem to like it. Another question I have is: Is is normal for him to not play? Not with bones, toys or anything. Any feedback is appreciated. |

| Welcome the yorkie talk! Congrats on your new family member. Not much help on treats, but some dogs love to play with toys, while others don't. My Harley loves to play with toys but our boxer is not a toy dog

| Thanks for responding - I'm hoping with a little love from us, he'll start to feel more secure and then maybe he'll start to play. |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! I'm sure Chewie will come around. Did you post an ad on Craigslist, the newspaper and local vets to make sure that no one was looking for him? It's possible that he's not playing because he misses his family...

| We posted notices in the neighborhood where he was found, Craigslist, FidoFinders and the local Animal Care center. No one has come forward so we have decided to get him all his shots, license him and also get him fixed. My other thought with him is that he's been abused at one time or another. When you raise your voice a little and point your finger at him he cowers. I wouldn't want to send him back to abuse, but nonetheless, no one has come forward. |

| Awe I am so glad Chewie is with your family Georgie is picky about treats so he gets carrots, apples no skin, frozen peas and he loves non-fat plain yogurt. I think given the circumstances he may be scared/nervous and possibly not used to being loved and playing as sad as it sounds. He will play eventually I am sure. Georgie likes the little cloth squeaky toys. He bounces around when we squeak one. Again I am so glad he is with your family and look forward to pictures
