| Tick on my furbaby! Saturday I found a tick on my Freddie...it had been there for awhile, by his ear. I was shocked because I always check him!!!!! I pulled it out and it left a pretty big lump on his right by his ear. Should I be concerned? It has really bothered me (doesn't seem to bother him) that I didn't find it sooner!!! Any advise from you guys? I figure if it doesn't go down in a couple of days I'll take him to the vet. Any advise would be so helpful. |

| I don't have any experience with ticks, but I agree with you... If it doesn't go down in a day or two, get your pup into the vet. Do you have him on a flea/tick preventative?

| Ticks have always left a bump on Callie after they have been pulled. I would just keep an eye on it and if it gets redder, oozes anything or gets bigger then call the vet. Try to make sure that he does not scratch it.

| We have always put pellets on our lawn to prevent the fleas and ticks, and he has never gotten one before....it seems that with all the leaves falling the fleas especially are really coming out and I wash Freddie in dawn to kill them. It worked all summer, but now I have to do it more ofter. The bump is not red and it is not oozzing or anything, I keep putting peroxide on it. |

| I hope some one who knows more about ticks than I do, can help you. You can always call your Vet and check out YT threads about ticks too. Some one told me to save the tick. Put it in a ziplock bag and write the date it was taken off. I guess only certain ticks carry certain diseases. My dogs have never had one.

| What do you use, freddie is only 3 1/2 pounds so I have been reluctant to put frontline or any of the others on him...I have heard horror stories of ppl that their baby has had bad reactions..... |

| Georgie had a bump from a tick as well. After 2 days of it not going away I took him to the Vet to confirm he was ok and he was. I put neosporin on it and it went away. Georgie is 3.8lbs and I have always used frontline or advantage with no issues.

| I use Advantix. Honestly there are horror stories about everything. I would worry more about the illnesses they can pick up fom fleas and ticks not to mention if fleas get in your house they can be terrible to get out.
