Question about neutering my 6 year old

Hi guys, need some advice

I'm considering neutering my 6 year old. Does anyone here have any experience with neutering a 6 year old(or around that age?). Outside of the health benefits, I'd like to put a stop to his marking too.

I would not count on neutering a 6yr old to stop any marking habits that have been ingrained for 6 years or so. Only retraining and that over probably at least 6months will have the best chance of success.

Do some research on here and other websites, of the benefit in particular of neutering males. Then armed with more information from the research you have read, have a frank talk with your vet, about the "actual" health benefits for neutering your male at this point in time.

As the poster(above) has said...I would talk to your vet about your concerns. I wouldn't think he would be too old to neuter, unless there are health issues..I also agree that having him neutered at this age isn't going to stop his marking. I had Bentley done at 11 months old before he started marking and lifting his leg...He still squats...He was starting to hump one of my females (all spayed) and that stopped as well when I had him neutered

He will still mark- IMO.
