| Eating Poo...ugh! Why? Why? Why? Why do they eat their own poo? Trust me when I say he has food and water in his dishes when he does this! So foul, any advice?

YT Addict | My GiGi doesn't eat her poo, she likes the cats. I have to race her to the cat box everytime a cat goes in there. Thought about a gate, but Ditto, can't seem to make it over the gate, so then she goes on the floor and that makes it even eazier for GiGi to snack....ick!!!! |

| Sorry that your dogs eating his poo. Nasty. We saw a Victoria still well episode where she suggested picking up the poo right away do they don't have that opportunity to do it. We've been doing that since our dog was a puppy and he's obviously never eaten his poo. I've also read that putting pineapple in his diet helps make the poo taste nasty. Or you could spray the poo with bitter apple and see if that works. |

YT 500 Club Member | My puppy loves poop eating too. Since day one that I've had her. Tried the frozen pineapple chunks, cut up. Two in the am, and two in the pm. She's six months old now, and I think it works. Haven't seen her eat her poop in months. Although I'm trying to teach her to potty outdoors now, and have no idea what she does outside. Its tough teaching indoor potty then outdoor potty! Good luck, pick up poop as fast as you can! That helps!

| Talula used to and believe me, her breath was bad to begin with-she didn't need any help making it worse. They make a powder called Forbid(or something like that) that you can sprinkle on their food that will help until they quit and also try not to feed table scraps until you break them of the habit because another theory is that they can still smell food that didn't digest all the way in the poo and so they eat it. Both of these things helped me break her of that yucky habit.
