dilemma?

Well, as some of you who may know zooey, or not. This is my dilemma. Were still trying to resolve her skin issue. Its looking better with oral meds. Flucazanol for her skin. I want to get her spayed in first week of October. Now vet said, maybe not if she has ringworm, which hasn't been ruled out. This Med is suppose to kill anything fungal or bacterial. Zooey needs to be on it for three more weeks. In the mean time she can't go to a groomer, start puppy star with akc, and hopefully doesn't go into heat by October! Her hair is getting very long by tail and but area. What do you suggest I do? I would never attempt to groom my pup myself! Lol

does the hair get dirty when she does her poops ? if it does , then i'd trim it some. if not then just leave it alone.

I trim a little around the bum...sanitary trim..only takes a minute...no groomer required. You could also try feeding coconut oil and rubbing it on her skin. Coconut oil (organic, virgin, expeller or cold pressed) is antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, etc., and is very rich in lauric acid...very good for skin. Brody and Mia love it. Brody got a rash when each of the 2 cyclonic storms (so far) that came through...we had huge mosquitoes with them and who knows what else rode in on the winds and fell with the rain. The first time, I used the coconut oil...also emu oil. The second time, I took him to the vet who said they were seeing a lot of this rash in this area and that it had to do with acidity, rain, grass, and some kind of interaction and the wet grass touching their skin...I dunno...never heard of it until then...they don't have complete knowledge. Anyway, 2 shots and a bunch of Benedryl later, Brody was better and I let up on the coconut oil...and it came back. I started again, and it is gone now, except he itches sometimes, particularly when he goes outside and after he comes in for a while. I rub either emu oil or coconut oil on wherever he itches, and 'itchy scratch' for him so he doesn't destroy the new coat he's growing again, and he's much better and without any other medication...no more scabs from all that scratching...I put it directly on any scabs. It's worth a shot, and it's added nutrition. Oh, and for ringworm, when we were kids, the standard 'fix' was to burn a cork and rub the blackened part after it cools on the ringworm...never went to a doctor for that. I know this probably sounds weird, but I use a lot of weird things because they work and are non-toxic. Good luck. I am so sorry to hear your baby is having this issue.
