I need help!!!

I need help with a problem. I have been looking for a playmate for my female Yorkie. I have tried several times to adopt from rescue groups only to find I am either to late or get no answer back. So finally I found an ad for the perfect little girl. The problem is that there are two of them. The little girl has a half sister that has to be adopted with her. I only want one, my husband who doesn't want another dog finally gave into getting one more.
I can get both of them and then adopt one out, I can get them both and hope my husband will change his mind or I can let them go to someone else. So I need some help making my decision. I totally want what is best for these little girls, but I need some suggestions that I may not have thought of.

It would be so morally wrong to agree to adopt both then separate them.

Keep looking the right one will come along.

Don't get them if you AND your husband aren't in agreement about them.

I am in WV but I have a girlfriend in NC and she is coming to visit me this weekend so maybe it could work out for her to bring her to you when she goes home if you would be interested??

Do not get them both if you are not committed to keeping them both together. When a rescue insists on adopting out a pair of dogs it is because they are a bonded pair. Please do not get them and then separate them. They need each other. Get another dog.

If the current owners don't want them separated then I think you should honor that. If you can't have both, then they were not meant to be. I understand your frustration. I attempted three different girls through rescues. They didn't work out. But then along came Mikki when I least expected her. If this don't work out, the right one is out there waiting for you.

I would seek a yorkie at another place if I were you. I'd respect the owners wishes. Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice. I PMed Zaknnans but did not get a reply. I hope you got my message. I am still undecided. Spent the weekend keeping up with 5 yr old granddaughter. Didn't leave much time to think about what I need to do. I am pretty sure I will stop looking if I don't get these. Just getting tired of the frustration.

Please don't get the two if you are not going to keep both. I have a bonded pair of brother Cats, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Just taking one to the vet is a problem. The other gets in the carrier with him. They snuggle together, call out for the other if he can not find his brother. Those dogs need each other. Don't separate them.

Don't give up! You will get your girl. I am still waiting for my little boy. But when I get him. He will be the best, perfect little boy. Just be patient. The right dog will come along.

I had cat brothers that were bonded and one died. It was awful for the remaining brother...who lived 13 more years. I don't think he ever quite recovered. I still have 2 male cats who bonded when the younger one arrived. They snuggle together, groom each other, etc., too, and they are now 13 and 14 years old.

I had a dog who bonded with one of his daughters. They would sit facing each other, paw to paw, and 'talk' (vocalize) in what appeared to be 'word-like conversation' and would groom each other, and snuggle up together, and when she went to her forever home, he almost died of sadness and heartbreak...wouldn't eat or drink, wouldn't play, barely would go outside...it was horrible. I had to make an appointment to take him to see her again, after which...seeing she was alive, well, and happy, he was fine afterward.

Brody and Mia are not litter mates...they were 17 months old before they even met...but they have bonded, and like Verbena said, taking one separately to the vet is a problem. DH recently took Brody...and did NOT allow Mia to accompany...which I would have done...and poor Mia was 'beside herself' with worry by the time they got home again.

ONLY get the pair together IF you will keep the pair together...or keep looking for the one who already belongs with you and is just waiting for you to find him/her.

I forgot to say before that I have made up my mind about not separating them. I will either get & keep them both or nothing. I will not separate them if I get them. You have convinced me that is the best for all. So thanks for your help.
