| Did the breeder die my Biewer Yorkie's Hair?! A couple months ago I bought a Biewer Yorkie. She is now around 10 months old. However, I have noticed that her hair has DRAMATICALLY changed. Her hair has completely changed from black to white, and the hair that has grown out has black tips. Is this normal for Yorkies, or did the breeder die my puppie's hair? I'll provide some pictures. Does this look normal or does it look like the breeder died her hair? |

| I am no expert on Biewers or Yorkies, but it looks like your Biewer is just clearning black to tan. Brody had black tips on his tan...which was pale platinum blond...at 14 months, and Mia, who cleared and lost all her black and is now golden all over with no blue, still has black tips on her tan at 2 years old. One thing I AM an authority on is cuteness...and that is ONE CUTE BABY!

| Truthfully, I don't think the breeder dyed your Biewer's hair. I think your Biewer is getting his adult coat, and oftentimes, that means big changes. I knew of a yorkie that was very dark as a puppy. His adult coat was very silvery. In fact, I would consider him a silver yorkie. |

| Thanks everyone! I'm appreciating the feedback. I'm not very familiar with Yorkie/Biewer Yorkie Coats and had no idea that they could change so dramatically! (Sorry on the misspell on dyed/died) |

| You can trim off the black tips...might want to wait until her hair is longer. Mia's previous owner trimmed her very short and removed most of the black tips, but in very bright light, there are still some black tips there. Don't get used to her colors, yet, either...she will probably change again.

| My puppy, Alexa, is actually going to the groomers on Monday--planning on giving her a short puppy cut. I'm looking forward to seeing how her coat will change! That's exciting. |

| Totally normal! I don't know much about Biewers, but yorkies change like crazy. Jackson was totally black & a dark tan as a pup, his back is now totally silver.

| I would say this is very normal. My Ginny Joy is 16 months, now she is a light golden cream on face, belly and paws the rest is a lovely pearl silver. She was a deep brownish tan and black as a pup. Abba Daddy, is about 17 months, he too has changed. He was black with brown points, now is a deep blue gray with a pale golden tan face and legs. Before getting their summer hair cuts, they both had black tips from their puppy coat.

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | Normal I got my Biewer, Zachary at 14 weeks. He is now 6 months. He was white and black with a touch of tan. He is now white with beautiful shades of gray (blue) and a touch of tan. I knew this would happen so I was prepared for the change in his coloring after his first grooming. Still, it kind of shocked me. Don't worry, it normal and the new coloring is VERY eyecatching!! I get so many compliments. Your baby is GORGEOUS and I KNOW you will get TONS of wonderful compliments on him. But, be forwarned, a lot of people won't recognize him as a Yorkie so you will need to "educate" them. To be honest, I had never even HEARD of a "Biewer/TriColored" Yorkie till I got Zachary. The picture on the left is NOW and the one on the right is THEN. Enjoy your new baby and keep the pics coming!! Louise |

| I don't know about Biewer's but I have had a couple of dogs change color on me as they matured. When we got our Shih Tzu he was a tri-colored puppy. By the time he was an adult he was mostly white with some gold and all the black had disappeared. Gracie had the typical black Yorkie saddle on her as a puppy and her black lighted up quite a bit as she matured. I guess they decide for themselves what color they want to be! |

| Lots of dogs go through color changes...Yorkies, Shih Tzu, Havanese... Nothing to worry about...just take photos as they grow. Sometimes they end up looking like a completely different dog.

| This drastic tip change is a bit well dramatic but I sent rhe pic to a friend she has seen this before but said she laughed because she had never seen it so dramatically As a cosmetologiat (lol) if it was dye use some 40give volume dye (any permant dye in athe box) and coat the dark tip with the same color, blend it abd wipe adding new dye...if it bleeds or fades it was dyed...dye removea dye...otherwise its just a shocking case of quick coat color change. My parti was belted bright white as a pup and now has a solid black silvery back... Id not use dye on a dog though and the cobcensus is pretty accurate its just coat cchange.

| She is beautiful! There are a few "sticky" on yt about coat color changes. I also have read a few articles on the web. I think all yorkies go through color changes... It is fun to watch an wonder how a baby will finish
