| eye color Hi there. . . I read some where that if you take a picture of you yorkie his eyes will shine blue or green if he has a silky coat and brown or red if he has a cotton coat. But when my yorkie was 2-4 months his eyes shine blue when I took a picture but at 5 months his eyes were brown. So what will his coat be silky or cotton. Thanks. . . |

| Never heard of brown eye shine only red, blue or orange which is red combination. I't's not a science persay...my Schnorkie as a silky coat however he also has his schnauzer gene course coat hairs (double coat) and green eye shine. My yorkie has silky coat with super cottony on his white underbelly (he's a parti) he has one eye blue with the other orange! My mini schnauzer is a mega coat with green eye shine.

| They say every camera wont show the true color of the eye shine only old cameras because of the flash they used. There is a thread on here that explains it.

| It's been more than 15yrs since I've had a puppy, so I don't remember how much their coats change during the first year. I do know that for us, the theory is confirmed (new model camera w/flash)... Tillie has green eye shine and a silky coat, while Bella has red eye shine and a cottony coat. And like Hazels-momm mentioned, there are other threads on the forum (just use the search box at the very bottom of the page and click the box for YorkieTalk.com )

| It's supposed to be green/blue is silky coat and red/orange is cotton coat. My girls were the opposite Luna's eyes shone green, she's cotton coated, Izzy's glowed red, she's silky
