| Thief My little Piper used to steal things- I had to watch for anything dropped on the floor. I knew when he went dashing under the bed that he had something he wasn't supposed to have. He would not drop or give the button, or whatever back, so we worked out a deal I would say "let's trade" and put a biscuit on the floor. He would drop the stolen item and pick up the treat. In time, he would drop his treasure without me having to put something down- I would just say "let's trade." His worst incident was when he climbed up in my wing chair, got on the arm and then on the lamp table beside the chair. He stole a threaded needle from my mending! That ended us in the vet's office since he swallowed part of the needle and thread! The x-ray showed it in his stomach. However, lots of bread and a close watch was all we had to do- no harm or surgery, thank goodness! I learned that Yorkies are very quick and don't miss a thing! Piper's mom |

| You know, I read stories here all the time about your Yorkies stealing things but Tatum is pretty funny about that. She will go pick up something - anything - that she knows she shouldn't have and then deliberately walk past you, real sneaky-like, so you'll see her. It's the funniest thing to see and as soon as we start laughing at her, she'll drop it and grin! The other night my daughter had an unwrapped stack of index cards sitting by her backpack and as soon as I turned away from it, my husband started laughing because here comes Tatum with one single card from the stack held real delicately in her teeth. She was "tiptoeing" through the room past us. But she is a true TRASH MONSTER! She is going to be so upset to see that in our new house our trash is in a big drawer instead of the pantry with a bi-fold door that she knows how to open.
