| KIMCHI is not himself... =( Im feeling like a puppy failure mom =( Kimchi recently has been having such bad behavior, and acting so strange! It really started after he was groomed. He gets groomed every 2.5 months and acts strange. Running with his butt hunkered, not leaving his bed, acting very sad and depressed. Usually lasts about a week. After that week was over both pups started chewing their pee pads, then Kimchi felt sick because it was making him constipated. So we had to start crating them during the night time. In the last few weeks Kimchi has been snapping at me, not listening to simple commands, like on your bed, he mops around constantly, sometimes acting depressed. I just dont know what to do for him! Miso has been pretty normal. I think a possibility is that I am nearing my 9th month of pregnancy, This summer in Korea has been humid, and hot, I havent been able to take them for walks (my husband in the army and works long late hours) or take them outside, theres all this new baby stuff they are not allowed to play with (although we have let them check it all out just not chew it!) and I have not physically or emotionally been myself. Anything I can do to make this process easier for him! I love him to death but he has been testing my patience so badly sometimes I swear I see red!

have you had him checked out at the vets to make sure there is nothing physically wrong? When something is wrong with Brandi, she has her way of letting me know. Could it be the pregnancy? Are you feeling anxious with the impending birth (probably a stupid question as I know I would be if I were about to give birth)? Our little ones can sense when we feel anxious.

Did something happen at the groomer's? That he is upset with you. Could be his way of trying to tell you something. Congrat's on your pregnacy. Maybe he is just getting anxious about the difference in your house hold. Anne , Luci

Dexter was odd around our pregnant neighbour. He's fine now she's had the baby! Very odd indeed. How is your other dog/s after being groomed?

And i can understand your stress, my friend is also 9 months pregnant right now and she is a beast right now, lol

Kimchi Has ALWAYS been this way after the groomer, like he doesnt want anyone to see him, will hide in his crate. its usually wears off after about a week or so when he is use to the new feel of his fur. Thank you for all the advice! And we are taking him to the vet very soon because he needs his rabies vaccine updated hopefully the vet can help! Its the same place that grooms him, but unfortunately communication is very limited with us speaking english and them speaking Korean =/

I can't explain his behavior towards you but you need to ask the groomer to scissor his bum around his anal area & under the tail instead of shaving the area as depending on the hair type when shaved some types of hair is very pokey when it's too short & is most likely why he plants his bum & will not move till it grows out a bit & stops poking him.

The groomer is doing something that is causing a great deal of distress to your dog. I would stay and watch and talk to the groomer about this behavior. If you cannot work things out with the groomer then find another one that you an trust. It is not normal for a dog to react this way to proper grooming. You know the problem starts there so address it.

The only time that DInk acted like this after the groomer when he had his anal glands expressed. It can be painful. Some dogs need it, some don't. Dinky does not. I am very emphatic with the groomer about this and remind her every time. I say Dink does not need it because he does not have a strong "doggy smell."
