| suddenly afraid of us?? We have a Yorkie boy, Teddy, who is one year and 3 months old. He's usually perfectly healthy and lively boy, who adores us, especially my husband. He's very spoiled!! Yesterday we took him to the vet for his annual shots, he was scared a bit, but everything went normal. We then went home and later in the evening went to have dinner with our friends, who also brought their boxer puppy (2months old). They didn't go along very well, and Teddy was very aggressive towards Rex (the boxer), but I didn't notice anything unusual. He was lying next to my husband on our bed and my husband was playing music on his iPad, when Teddy started whinning and acting scared. My husband turned off iPad and comforted him, he calmed down a bit. But something went off since then. He didn't sleep on our bed (which is where he normally insist on sleeping, tucked between us). This morning, when my husband went to pick him up, he was trembling and being very scared. He didn't want us to touch him and would just run away. He wouldn't eat his favorite chicken, treats. I am not sure why is that? We never spank him or anything. He normally loves being cuddled, but now he runs away and whines??? Any idea as to why all of sudden he's so scared of us, especially my husband, whom he usually loves more than me? We're at lost |

| I hope he's better. Could he be sore from the shot? Or maybe a reaction to the shot? Give the vet a call and see what they say. Hope all is OK. |

| Toby did that the last time he had his shots. It turned out he was real sore from the shots and did not want to be touched. I think it took him about 2 days to feel better and to start letting us touch him again. I will pray he feels better and everything goes back to normal. By the way what chicken treats are you feeding him? Alot of chicken treats have been recalled. I wish you the best of luck and I hope your little one feels better soon. |

| Sophie Kate did that after her first year physical and shots, she wanted nothing to do with me and only wanted to cuddle with the cat (her best buddy). I felt horrible and it took about 24 hours for her to come around. I think it was the shots so now we spread the shots out over a couple of visits and she does much better. I hope Teddy is feeling better.

| Maybe a combination of feeling bad from the shots & hearing those odd sounds from the iPad? I have 18 speakers on my TV so there is a lot of different, very high & mid-range sounds & odd sounds that come out quite distinctly from time-to-time. Tibbe totally used to freak out when he would hear a "new" sound come out - something he'd not dealt with before. He used to just quietly slip off the couch & go to the bedroom & I would find him back there shivering. With some behavior modification training, he learned now that those sounds are good things. My last dog could care less about sounds & was affected by no noises but Tibbe is very, very sensitive to new or different sounds, far less-so now than when I got him. And a lot of time dogs associate something they dislike to the place or circumstance where they heard it or the person they were with when they heard it - or all those. Some dogs will store that fear away & revisit it while others are not fearful when it recurs. Hope yours is better now & it was all a one-time deal.

| Thank you so much for your opinions. Our guess is that Teddy already was pretty sensitive after his shots, and at dinner when Rex (the boxer puppy) wanted to play with him, it made him more angry and aggressive (he's normally not that aggressive). Today after we took him for a walk, he was feeling much better already. He came home and I gave him some kibbles (which he refused) and some chicken, and he ate the chicken and went to sleep. He is still whiny and not his happy usual self, but at least he eats (just chicken) and came back to bed and napped next to us. I am so much relieved. |

We actually just boil some chicken breast and give him that, we try not to give him much though, as he's very picky about his food and I fear after today it will be hard to get him eat kibbles again (it happened last time he was sick too) | |
