How many hours a day should a 7 wk old puppy sleep

I have a new puppy that seems to sleep all day and is fidgety all night. How many hours a day should she sleep?

Most Yorkies shouldn't leave their mom and littermates till 12 weeks, I would guess your little one is lonely. Seven weeks is so young, you might get a better answer in the breeder’s forum, pet owners don't usually have a dog that young.

This breaks my heart to hear a puppy taken from their mom so soon. My puppies are still nursing at this age....

The breeder that you posted about earlier that advertised on ebay is who you bought your Yorkie from??
These babies need to stay with Mom until at least 12 weeks old. 7 weeks is awful young, but what is done is done. You just need to make this baby is eating enough and doesn't have a low blood sugar episode that could cause real problems.

Yes, you bring up an important point, puppies this age may still be nursing through the night. Maybe she's hungry, is food available during the night?

You have an infant there. Treat it like an infant. As already stated it should be with it's mom and litter mates. Needs someone to cuddle with and proper feeding. Very sad that people sell puppies at that age.
