♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Another puppy mill shut down! Hi all...heard on the news yesterday that a puppy mill right in my own backyard(Durham Region...Clarington, Ontario) has been shut down. Police and animal rescue acted on a tip and found 31 young pups livng in deplorable conditions. They were found surrounded by feces and urine...some so filthy the vet had trouble taking their temperature! They are all now being cared for by the Durham Humane Society and are now available for adoption. My good friend is a yorkie lover as are myself and all of you on this forum, the dogs range in breed....maltese, maltipoo, schnauzer and cairn and yorkshire terrier. You know i wanted to take them all home, they all looked so scared, yes i was in tears. Marcia...maricayorkie and myself were there this afternoon. i was unable to take one home at this time, but Marcie bless her heart went home with wags...a maltese mix!! Congrats Marcie on your new baby, and welcome to yorkie talk!!! |

| It's great that another mill has been closed down. I hope all of the puppies find wonderful homes.

My furkids Donating Member | WOOOOO HOOO! I can't for the life of me, understand WHY it is so difficult to shut these places down....It should be illegal for pets stores to sell animals as well...yet they keep doing it......glad to hear they were shut down and that your friend adopted one.,...

| For the life of me I cannot understand how people can treat animals this way, dogs are one of our greatest gifts and people treat them like used soda cans. I am glad they closed this place down. |

| How WONDERFUL to hear of another of these hell on earth puppy mills being shut down! I hope that the people running this place are facing stiff consequences (unlikely). I am so happy to hear that there is a strong interest in adopting the poor babies and thank you so much for sharing the great news. I will NEVER understand how anyone could do this to a poor animal. There truly is a special place in Hell for those people.

| What wonderful news. Those dogs now have some hope! Don't you know it feels so good to them to get clean and dry, lesions from no grooming treated and healing, nails short enough not to hurt tender feet, water and food good, clean and fresh, room to turn around and lie down and a comfortable and warm place to sleep, not to mention the kind gentleness of meaningful human contact and genuine love? Great work for all that worked on making this happen!

| Sweet! Just saw this on the Durham Humane Society website. It was tweeted on their adoption page. HumaneDurham @Starfishlb We have had an amazing amount of adoption requests for the new dogs, fortunately - they are all spoken for. Lots of others here! 2 hours ago · reply · retweet · favorite |
