| You may have to treat your yard with the granules to keep them safe from the ticks. If you put them on before a heavy rain, then they will be melted.

| We have a huge rain heading our way. DH said he would put them out this week once the rain leaves the area. We usually don't have to put them out until about May or June! I hate these little creepers!

| The new product, Certifect, may work. It's..fipronil and amitraz. I wouldn't be a fan of using amitraz on my dogs though. Frontline not working at all? 3D already has permethrin in it, so Advantix will likely not work either.

| No Frontline don't touch them. My vet even stopped carrying it. I used Advantix in the past. But the ticks will still get on them. It does kill them however. So does this Vectra. I just would like something that would repel them instead of the tick having to bite them then die.

| Jackson had a tick attached on the bridge of his nose/muzzle the other day. Grrrrr. I did apply Frontline because it was all I had and hated having it go to waste since I purchased 6 months worth. Haven't seen any since and this was over a week ago... so who knows. But I'll be going back to Advantix for the summer. FL doesn't usually work well here.

| I used the Frontline Plus on my cats and the ticks seemed to thrive on it. There is not another approved topical for cats against ticks and they are the ones that bring the ticks into the house. My only defense has been to flea comb them when they come in to get the unattached ticks off them so they don't find their way to Gracie. Then I use the tick puller to get off any embedded ones. I don't know of anything that kills them before they bite. I have already found two ticks and it is March! I dread thinking of what it will be like this summer. |

| These will take care of that, plus other insect problems: Food grade diatomaceous earth for flea and tick treatment. And: Chinaroad Lowchens of Australia - Ticks, fleas, bees, flies, snakes and other gremlins! And how to deal with them!

| Yes a yard treatment may help. Ive always used Frontline and never had problems with it. I live in NH, our tick population is massive and they are saying it's going to be worse this year with the warm winter we had! ugh! Already ready to put frontline on the boys tonight since the kids walked in the woods yesterday for 5 mins and had ticks on them! YUCKKKKK, they are the grossest bugs ever! (except maggots)

| Have you looked into Garlic? They say that sprinkling a bit of garlic on their food each day will prevent ticks and fleas. However I'd talk to a professional so you can find out what is a safe amount to give. I bought my boys solid gold garlic bagel treats one year and every week I'd give them one. I didn't need to use frontline almost all summer and they had NO ticks at all. Lucky for me, they've never gotten fleas....
