| i was HORRIFIED! when i just now on Animal planet saw on a "rescue" type show that went into a pet shop & they discovered a DEAD YORKIE still in it's cage!!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!!! Turns out they are closing down the pet shop, THANK GOODNESS!!! It was the WORST image I have ever seen!! I have never posted a thread before, but when I saw this, I had to see if anyone saw the same thing I did. BTW, the pet shop I believe was in Miami. I just want to cry right now! Bless that babie's heart!!

| what a poor pup! At least there are people in the world that do care like us, and the officers on that show. One day eventually, if we work hard enough, we can shut down all these horrible places that exploit these poor babies.

| I'm glad I didn't see that! I just wonder how many times a day that same scene is repeated in this country?

| I am glad I did not watch it. If I would of saw it, I would of started crying out of control. I can't stand any animal being abused in any way. I HATE puppy mills. I hope anyone who mistreats a poor defenseless animal in any way, gets what they deserve. Every animal deserves love and compassion. A warm place to sleep at night, water, nourshing food and most important LOVE. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | That's an older show and was awful to watch ...but what is even worse is how long it took to shut that guy down and all the tricks he used to stay in business I KNOW this country can do better by these dogs than they do - it should NOT be an ongoing problem with multiple visits by Animal Rescue Agencies - If they see abuse ...they should be able to STOP it without it taking months and months. I despise the way dogs are treated in this country - they are abused far too often and the people profiting off their backs are just slapped on the hand. |

| I think we could learn from other countries on this one. They seem to be a lot more humane in Europe than we are here. I wonder why it is taking us so long to value life?

| My husband and I watched this the other night and were outraged! Not only did it take months to close the shop down after finding the dead Yorkie, but he had already received over 50 citations THAT YEAR!!!! Most of the dogs had NO water and many had very contagious diseases such as kennel cough and even distemper. It is sickening to think that people can get away with things like this because the law is set up to protect the business owners more so than the dogs!!!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I TOTALLY AGREE !! That's why we need to KEEP PROTESTING PET STORES Selling Live animals - if we could ban the sales - then the puppy mills would have to slow down in their mass breeding and many puppies would NOT be born into a life of hell |

| I seen that I seen that also. I thought that owner should pay some fines, do some community service and jail time. I really believe if they would enforce the law on animal abuse and do something with some of these who does these things I think some of them would think long and hard before abusing an animal that cannot help themselves. They had kennel cough and distemper and no water........... |
