| ![]() My Daisy is high risk and just had a dental and a tooth extraction. As long as your vet is using a safe protocol and running blood work prior to the procedure, then the risk is very low. It is far more beneficial to do the dental than to let your yorkie walk around with rotting teeth and periodontal disease.

![]() Jackson had a dental surgery as well as cleaning while under, but I did bloodwork prior and brought him to a dental specialist and felt confident with where he was. Everything went very smoothly and he was 100% by the next day.

| ![]() Im sorry to hear this- Poor guy- Peanut is 4 years old and he has had 3 dentals. He had a dental/ pull his puppy teeth out at about 6 months, a dental at 2 and a dental at 4. I always feared about his teeth falling out, or getting so bad that had to extract them. Yorkies have bad teeth in general- you have to stay up on them. If I were you I would get his teeth taken care of- just brushing them is not "really" going to do anything. He needs a dental from the Vet. Brody is still young and has many years left- 5 years is a long time going without a dental.

| ![]() You definitely want to get a dental. When I got Brandi at 7 yrs old, 25 of her teeth had to be pulled because her previous owner neglected her. Only 4 of her front teeth could be saved. That was 5 yrs ago....just last month my poor baby had to have her last 4 teeth pulled. |

| ![]() Farley just turned 5, and next monday he will be getting his 4th dental. I have always been scared of him losing teeth. WHich is why i try to brush regularly and have proffesional dentals done. It helps keep them healthy all over, as infected rotten teeth can cause many other problems as well, including heart problems. |

| ![]() Couver just had his first dental (at 3.5 years old), and he did great. He was groggy the day of the dental, but was back to his normal self the next day. Now his teeth are pearly white. I think by 5, Brody really should have a dental. You really have to stay on top of dental care with yorkies.
