Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I thought it was a squirrel! Hey guys! Sorry to be a bit MIA this weekend. Me, Katie Scarlett, and the hubby spent a lot of family time together. We went shopping, went to the flea market, went to PetSmart, and did a lot of chilling around the house. It was so much fun but I think KS is plum tuckered because she has been sleeping most of the day today. LOL. Anyways, had to tell y'all about the flea market experience. We went to an indoor/outdoor flea market. The indoor part did not allow pets, so we stuck to the outside. It was a bit chilly but I had a thick sweater and a thick coat on KS so she was fine. She loved intereacting with everyone and the other dogs there. We met 2 of the most adorable Pekinese (spelling?) doggies there! They were so adorable and KS loved them. We got a lot of 'oohs, ahhs' and 'look how cute'...as I'm sure all of you do when you go out with your babies. But we did get one odd comment.... We were walking along and walk past this couple. After they pass us the wife says 'hon, look at that precious dog!' He says 'where?' She points and he says as plain as day 'What? That's a dog? I thought she was walking a squirrel!' Can you believe that?!!! First, why on Earth would anyone tame and walk a squirrel? And second...can we just ask where his manners were? The people out in this world amaze me! Tee hee! But we did get a chuckle out of the situation. So we can add 'squirrel' to the list of names we have been called. Beats all I've ever seen in all my born days! Have a good week guys! Hugs! | Well I dont see how any yorkie could be confused with a squirrel. However I can see how squirrels could get so tame you could put a leash on it and walk it because I have one. I started giving him peanuts on my front porch and he would come for them everyday. He will let you pet him and also will take a peanut or cookie out of your hand. Now when he wants me to feed him nuts he comes up on the porch and squirrel barks to let me know he is there. He is super cute!!!!

| Squirrels can be quite beautiful . I wouldn't take it as an insult, maybe he just has bad eyesight or doesn't get out too much :P Think of his comment as a compliment to all of the squirrels out there |

| People need to learn to keep comments to themselves, I doubt he actually thought it was a squirrel, he was probably just trying to be funny , a lot of guys I know joke that meeshas a hamster or guinea pig lol, for some reason guys who aren't manly enough, feel the need to joke about little dogs, little dogs make them feel insecure or feminin, they feel unmanly saying oh that little dog looks sweet ,so instead they feel the need to joke about it, I wouldn't take it personally. Real men are able to see that little dogs are just as awsome as big dogs and don't make snarky comments like that. |

and Bear too! ♥ Donating Member | I really wonder if he was joking or being sarcastic. Who knows? I had Bear in a Bath and Tile store the other day. My friends sister had given the owners of the store, her Yorkie, and they also own another one. They bring the dogs with them to work every day. I was talking to the male owner about how cute the girls were, and how I just loved Yorkies! He then asks me, "what kind of dog is that?". I said, he's a Yorkie too! Then I started thinking, does he not look like one? I think he does! There's a Yorkie in the Yorkshire Terriers magazine I bought at Petco that looks just like him. I really do think it's just a "man thing"!

| If he was an older fellow, I would say it was his eye sight. If not he was joking. KS is a darlin and anyone who knows what a Yorkie looks like would know she is a very cute and girly Yorkie. Her face is very feminie.

| Oh some people think they're so funny don't they? But hey its better than him saying he thought you were walking a big rat or something. (I take my rats to petsmart sometimes, on little leashes riding on my shoulder. It's hilarious to see peoples faces!)

| Hmmm...eye exam needed...Alzheimer's maybe...? You don't think it was Katie Scarlet's long fuzzy plume-like tail that confused him do you? Hey, there are all these great little things called books...usually the ones I mean are written for children...but they help kids learn what the animals all look like...lmao Kidding, of course, but OMGosh...this is just... Too funny!
