| Super Nervous.. Spaying my baby Hi everyone, This is my first post in this forum. First of all, I want to thank all of you for sharing your experience, knowledge and love for your babies. I am taking my baby (Rosie) to get spay tomorrow. I am so nervous. I have been debating for 3 months already if I should spay her. I decided that I would because it would be better for her in the long term. However I am quite nervous because she was supposed to be spayed in Dec when she was 5 months. But because she still had most of her baby teeth there, the vet suggested waiting one more month to alleviate the cost so we decided to schedule for January. Also when they did the blood work last time, the vet told me that her enzyme liver level was higher than usual.. that really really worries me. I hope and pray she doesn't have liver shunt or anything. So we are going back tomorrow to get her spay and getting another test (not blood test). I hope everything goes well, I don't know what I would do if anything happened to her. Please send her a few prayers. Thank you guys |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Welcome to YT! I will keep you and your little one in my t's and p's tomorrow. I hope all goes well. I know how you are feeling. My little Katie Scarlett was spayed last week. I had to keep myself really busy so I wouldn't worry myself to death. But the good news is that it did seem to go by a lot faster than I thought and they were calling me to say she had made it through surgery fine and that she was resting well. And the recovery has been a lot easier than I thought. Of course I limited her activity, but she has done good. I hope your experience will go as smooth. Keep us posted. Best wishes for tomorrow!

| Hi and welcome to YT. Congrats on your little baby. She sounds like she is in good hads with your vet. Sending good thoughts and prayers that all goes well with her spay and that she'll be back to ol' self in no time. Hugs.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome to YT. I will keep Rosie in my prayers for a safe procedure and a speedy recovery. My vet knows how nervous I am when one of mine has to go under so she does mine first thing and calls me as soon as she is done with the procedure.

| Thank you everyone for the nice thoughts. We just took Rosie in and they did another bloodwork.. her ALT was 111 went up from 103. I am really worried. The vet said she strongly suggested to do a bile acid test. I don't know what to do. I told her to go ahead and do it. I am too scare to find out what her results are. She said that its abnormal for puppies to have such a high ALT and the bile acid test will determine if she has anything serious. This is really nerve recking.. the thought of her being sick breaks my heart. What can cause her ALT to be so high? |

| So we were not able to spay rosie because the vet just did a bile acid test. We are waiting for the results. which can take two days. She was also prescribed medicine with antibiotics for a month because of her high ALT.. now we are waiting for the results..
