Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Question about onesies... Hey guys! I am about to head out and get a couple of preemie onesies for Katie Scarlett to wear to keep her from getting at her stitches from her spay yesterday. And I know this is probably a dumb question, but I am not sure. I know many of you said the onesies worked great for your babies after surgery...but how do they go to the bathroom? Do I need to cut out the bottom of the onesie so if she visits the potty pad she can go? How did you fix your onesies up for your Yorkie? Thanks guys!

| Mine potty outside, so I just took them off and went outside with them, then right back in and back on.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | LOL! Gotcha! I know that question sounded so silly, but I had no clue. I'm not sure how I'll do hers. She uses a pad indoors. I usually am right with her and I know when she is going to head over to the pad. So I'll try to roll 'em up quick like before she goes. Tee hee! Either that or doggy diapers!

YT 2000 Club Member | Well I put Mags on her backwards and left the middle snap undone and put her tail through there. I didn't cut any holes in it or anything, I just unsnapped it and took her over to the puppy pad about ever 45 minutes to an hour so she could go potty and then I;d snap it back up. I do want to say though, that just because they have the onesie on IS NOT a sure thing that they can't get the spay area open. Mags had hers on ALL THE TIME, and I woke up the next morning to Mags incision being laid wide open, I had to rush her back to the vet so they could clean her up and reclose her. Good luck.

YT 2000 Club Member | Oh I was scared outta my wits. I had stayed with her all day, I mean literally. My hubby relieved me off cooking, cleaning and every, him and the kids did it all so I could take care of Mags. She didn't do any scratching, running, jumping or anything. I hardly got any sleep at all, and I when I did wake up and checked her, she had split open. Not really sure why it split open, but it did. Doc used surgical glue and closed it up and put her on antibiotics to prevent infection. Hopefully this doesn't happen to the OP.

| When Maggie was spayed I used a premie onesize. Lol, by the time I realized that she was heading to the pad to tinkle, it was too late, she peed right thru the onezie. lol I have soft cone collars called the Kiss-e Collar. You can click on my signature if you would like to see what is available. Best of luck with Katie Scarlett's spay!

| I would just undo ZoE's onesie when she went potty, and then fasten it back up again when she was done.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Zoe is cute in her onesie!!! Misti...tee hee! I can hear it now too! That and Prissy saying 'Lordy Miss Scarlett, I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies.' Tee hee! I am pretty sure I am going to have her a special dress made with Gone with the Wind fabric and have a professional portrait taken with some of my GWTW collectibles. Then have her picture printed onto nice canvas and frame it to put in our GWTW themed bedroom. Thanks everyone for tips/pix on the onesies. Katie Scarlett is in her first onesie right now. I'll snap some pix soon!
