and Bear too! ♥ Donating Member | There's something going around that's causing dogs to cough and get sick. I heard it on the news this morning. It is in a few different states.

| We had the doggie flu here that is going around and a friend of mine has a maltese puppy that has had the same thing, it is NOT Kennel Cough. It is a URI that requires antibiotics (our 10yr old pom had two rounds) and sometimes cough syrup. My pom hadnt even been anywhere but the backyard. Keep a close eye on your baby to make sure that it is getting enough food and water. The vet is a very good idea. |

| Even with both of the influenza shots could she still have that? She just received her second one last Friday.. She has been home the past two days but went to doggie day care Monday. She goes about twice a week but has her kennel cough shots also. Thanks everyone!!

| I hope your little one is ok. I certainly understand worrying about them. It's hard to say what it could be. Hoping the vet can tell you.

| All of mine were upt on their shots and out of 6 dogs, she is the only one that got sick. I had to quarentine her on another floor of my house for two weeks. This was in October and she has been fine for quite a while. |

| Cody is sick right now too. I talked to my vet about it and she said even a well vaccinated animal can still get sick. However the vaccines likely reduce the severity of it when it happens. So it wasn't for nothing. For what it's worth, Cody is on preventative antibiotics and a close watch. He's getting better every day though. Here's hoping Ella's cough is nothing serious and she's on the mend soon. Let us know what the vet says. |
