| Email address of officials in Brazil re: Yorkie Murdered I was reading the page Dogs in Brazil and they gave the email address of the delegates that will be determining this case. Here are the email addresses. Hi everyone..one more e-mail to send regarding the awful case in Brazil with the woman killing her Yorkie. Here is the message I received:Larissa, send email to the delegate of the case, Dr Charles Firmin firminobv@hotmail.com and the Delegate General of Goiás, Dr. Adriana delegadogeral@policiacivil.go.gov.br dzendo the news of this murder ran outside and vcs tb require that the killer is arrested and Camila Correa pay for the crime! thank you! This Yorkie was only with this family for two months. It was abused frequently during that time. The neighbors confronted them and asked them to stop and they were told it was none of their business what they choose to do with THEIR DOG. The dog DID NOT DIE in the video as I previously thought but suffered in pain for days and was deprived food and water . When the police arrived to investigate days later it was still alive but the nurse then murdered it while the police were in her building. The woman whose friend made the video has been forced to flee the building as the landlord beat her husband and her daughter and told them they invaded the privacy of the nurse. My sleep is haunted by this poor Yorkie and I am asking the forum members to take a little time out of the holiday festivities to sign the petitions, to send emails, to try to make a difference. Our Yorkies are blessed to have us as their Guardians other furbabies are not so fortunate. Blessings to you all and your furbabies. Carolyn & Buster Brown

| I too am haunted by the pain and suffering this yorkie endured while in their care. I cannot stop thinking about it. Since hearing of this case, I cannot seem to stop doing research on animal cruelty and ran across a video call the Earthling. I've only watch the trailer and it was enough to open my eyes to the extent of animal cruelty. I knew it existed but not to this extent. it's almost like I took the red pill and there's no going back to being blissfully unaware. As horrific as this crime was to this poor yorkie, it definitely open the eyes of so many like myself who didn't know the extent of animal cruelty. This video is a call to arms for all of us to make a pledge to protect all animals as best we can. To help just do a google search on how to prevent animal cruelty and you can get some great suggestions on how to started. |

| This type of sick behavior seems to be spreading around the globe like a plague! It has to be stopped. Good people who care about all life forms need to speak up or shut up when this type of atrocity occurs. I know the good people on YT can be counted on to speak up. |

I now understand why YT members are so forceful in their posts regarding protecting Yorkies. I always supported their message but at times questioned the forcefulness of the delivery. I now understand the depths of their emotions and their passionate advocacy.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I just got this response after sending my emails...anyone speak Portuguese?

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Here's the Bing translation: Delegate: law prevents nurse who had assaulted her dog being arrested December 21, 2011 • 6:47 pm The delegate Carlos Firmino, who investigates the complaint of aggression of a nurse to a dog in front of her daughter in Formosa (GO), said on Wednesday that the woman will be arrested, even if they are convicted. According to him, this occurs because of the current legislation, that fits the crime as lightweight. As he, in Brazil, in cases with penalties of imprisonment of up to four years-the case of a nurse, according to Firmino-, the defendant does not go to closed regime. "It's not that I don't want to, is the law," he said. Article 44 of the Criminal Code stipulates that penalties restrictive of right (which include the provision of service to the community or public entity, among other sanctions) replace the deprivation of liberty in cases such as the nurse, denounced by ill-treatment to Yorkshire. The delegate further stated that the possibility of imprisonment is also hampered because the pressure has collaborated with the investigations, has no criminal record and neither ran. A video published on the internet showed scenes of aggression to the animal and generated great repercussion. In images, recorded from the window of a nearby House, a woman is shown kicking and beating the dog with the help of a bucket. A child of 3 years appears watching on assaults. With the aggression, the dog succumbed to his injuries and died and the girl must undergo a psychological evaluation.

| .. ...ummmmm. I need a translation of the translation. She will not be arrested because it is the law????? Because she did not run and has not as yet had a criminal record? Does she have to beat her child to death before something is done about her out of control personality? This woman could go out tomorrow and buy another dog to torture! | I signed the petition and knew that I should not have watched it...it sickens me and makes me want to vomit. I just held my little girl and told her how I love her so much. It sickens me so much that this woman is a nurse!!!! I am a nurse and to think that someone that sick is taking care of people!

| It looks like nothing will happen to her according to this link. Google Translate Their hands are basically tied because of the laws. Hopefully this incident along with several others that will spurred them to enact tougher laws/. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Bumping...there are 2 petitions to sign, and 2 email addresses to send a short message. Even if not much will happen, at this point, every voice matters. Your voice can help change laws/policies and certainly brings awareness.

| I've signed both petitions as well as sent email. Hopefully the laws will change so that they are much more harsher. Even though this monster was let go, they will be able to punish others. I'm also thinking her husband paid someone off. With the evidence they had against her, there's no way she should of gotten off. The law in it's present form gives max 2 yrs prison time plus fines. All she got for the murder of this little one was a 3,000.00 fine and some community service. What's really scary is that, she will probably get another yorkie who she will abuse again. Any animal that she chooses as a "pet" will be tortured. She's probably tortured animals her whole life. One does not wake up one day and do things like this. You either tortured animals or you don't. |

| so i have been living in brasil now for a few months and i was too completly shocked, distgusted etc and here is my take on what is going on. from the local news station here, it has been confirmed that in fact the dog did die and once he had died, the woman just out him in a bin bag and threw his body in the bin. when it comes to her being arrested/charged, this is where its a little more grey as no one seems to know where the law stands on matters like this. hopefully this case will bring to light the issues with the law and it will soon be changed |

| As they say the wheels of justice turn slowly. In my opinion the nursing association she belongs to should review her and throw her out. If she is that sick she is also a threat to the people who are put in her care. It is true that as far as I have seen there is nothing to prevent her from getting another pet and doing the same to it. Sickening. Is there any sort of humane organization in Brazil that will actually follow up on this torture / murder and lobby the government to change the laws? |
