Eating Machine??? Normal.... - YorkieTalk.com Forums

My 5 month old little girl eats great and is very happy.... But, she is always sniffing looking for more food. Every time she is playing in the house, she is on the prowl for FOOD. It is like she will not relax anymore, she is always sniffing the floor. I understand she is an animal, but is this normal. I have actually increase her food and it seems to have gotten worse. Any thoughts...Thanks

My boys seem to act the same way, but as long as I know I feed them the right amout that I don't need to worry. In time she will be so attached to you she will follow you around and stop scrounging for anything she finds!

No advice here...we free feed....mine dont seem to eat unless they are hungry...and they are definately not overweight!!

Im so glad you posted this because Choppa does the same thing. I dont free feed so they dont free poop so I am always worried he didnt get enough. At feeding tine he acts as if he has never eaten but the vet says he is healthy. When he sees me with food he almost walks tgrough a wall rubber necking.

If you free feed and "freely put out potty pads down", theres no worries,,,,mine never have accidents!!!

I free feed also... my boys never act starved and often don't even eat when I'm not home, they rarely finish a bowl of food in a day (about 1 cup for them both in a day is what I leave in their bowl). They pretty much always know that there will be food in their bowl for them, there is no feeding time or anything.

Potty pads don't always work, they did not with my boys.... they refused to use them, no matter what brand I tried. sometime they got it right, but more often than not, I'd be moving the pads everyday to a new spot where they peed on the floor the day before to try to get them to use it, but they'd just pick a new unpadded spot that day! aaarrgggg

My Chloe is the same way, always sniffing around. I feed her 3 meals a day along with treats as she does something that's on her training list. I know she's not hungry so I ignore it.
