| Holy Coyote! I take Jackson about 5 minutes up the road to a nice neighborhood in a golfing community to walk (we don't live in a neighborhood) and this morning we were on our walk and I swear I saw a freaking coyote!!! We were walking and about... 50 feet up or so, I see a bushy tail walking away from a trash can. At first glance, I thought it was a loose dog. But that back end was certainly not a dog so before getting another look at it, I quickly began walking the other way. It never saw us and it looked like it went back into the woods. This was around 11am in broad daylight. But I've never seen a coyote before and was soo freaked out! I talked to my mom just now and she said her friends mother lives in that neighborhood and was just talking last week about a coyote being in her backyard so I am certain that's what it was!! How creepy! Now we need to find a new walking location.

| We had a coyote outside by our garage about 6 months ago. I was afraid to take the dogs out. we have a subdivision behind us that had a coyote walking down the street. I guess they don't have anywhere to live and are looking for food. Glad you saw it and went the other way.

| I had the same thing happen one time. I live in a gated community!! I know it wasn't a dog, but I'm not positive if it was a Coyote or a fox. Our local news had had on lately that there are Coyote's in our area and people's dogs and cats have come up missing. My two are never out without us anyway, but it really is scary!

| That is scary! If I were you I would take a walking stick or something like that with me. Wildlife is beautiful...just not always up close and personal. lol

| Yikes! This is one of my fears about the park we go to for our walks. It is surrounded by deep woodlands.

| We've stopped going for walks in the morning since we saw a pack of coyotes in the driveway last week. We've been just going out in the backyard real quick. Today I could hear them in the distance as we were out there so we came back inside extra fast. It's so scary!!!! |

| Scary! There are coyotes all around my parents' house - they live way out in the country and you can hear them almost every night. It terrifies me every time I visit them!

| We have a golf course not far from us and coyotes have been seen there on several occasions. I'm not sure what they like about golf courses because I don't think coyotes are fond of golf balls. It may be that the golfers carry snacks or some type of food that is left along the way. Of course many golf courses are in areas that adjoin a forested area and are outside of town. With more and more people encroaching on wild areas the wild life is running out of places to hunt and live a normal life. I have deer eating out of my bird feeders regularly and they don't seem very shy about it. Coyotes feed mostly on mice and rats but will eat a bunny if given a chance. Another good reason for small dog owners not to leave their babies unattended. |

| We have coyotes and wolves in our area. My vet said to be careful because they can attack and try to kill your yorkie. Four weeks ago a couple would let their little half yorkie and maltese dogs out letting them run in the woods. I warned them about coyotes and finally one dog never came back. They were so stupid they let the other one run loose and after a week that one was missing. The poor babies were only 5 to 6 pounds and did not have a chance in life. Please watch because if they are hungry enough they could attack. Also be careful with hawks and eagles. |

| We have a lot of coyote on our farm. Yesterday DH just happened to be checking on the cattle and one was trying to get a new born calf. He scared it off and herded the cattle nearer to the front part of our property. I am scared to death of them and they have killed calves before. If they can kill something as big as a new calf, a yorkie doesn't stand a chance. I won't even walk my two, on leash, at the back parts of our property because of the danger.

| I was walking Marcie on morning and saw one. It ran off b/c of the flashlight I was carrying. Thank goodness I had a good hold on Marcie, she thinks she can handle anything. Big or Small. |

| Coyotes/Hawk we have been seening coyotes going thru our yards in our subdivision. Today I took Winston for a walk and low and behold a hawk swoop down from one tree to another. He didn't see my dog, I had him close but I got home quick. My neighbor said she wasn't paying attention and one came down on her and her yorkie a few weeks ago. I hate not being able to take Winston out for a walk without worrying about everything out there. I wish there was somewere inside I could let him just run wild! |
