| "Im tired of you...you have to go" (VENT) So if you all remember, I was venting about my family not really knowing about dog care and how it is a huge responsibility and all the good stuff. Two things happen in the last couple of weeks that upset me. First, my cousin who got a pomeranian/minipin mix for her 12 year old daugther for her birthday. About a month later, they got tired of picking up poop and finding pee puddles at home. Her daughter does not pay attention to him anymore. So to the pound he goes. And after that, they are talking about picking up an older (not a puppy, I think it was a 3 year old) dog who is potty trained. Thank God that they decided against it in the end. Second, my Uncle who left his puppy in the car while at church also got tired of his chihuahua jumping on them when they get home. Luckily, my granpa took her in. I just hope that they realize now how hard it is to own a living animal.

| This post makes me want to cry. How can people not see how amazing the love of an animal is? To simply GIVE UP on one is so heartless and cold... |

| There is so many people out there like that. I hate to hear these stories. I have a friend who we have had some major disagreement about how she does with her chihuahua. Animals have feelings too. |

| Maybe they'd all be better off owning stuffed toy animals instead People can be so clueless!

| Some people aren't meant to OWN pets at all! This is sad and shows how irresponsible they are in making these type of decisions. I understand sometimes there are certain circumstances that they absolutely cannot keep their furry loved one. But these rash decisions to get a dog or any pet and toss them aside without a thought is infuriating and sad. I'm glad your grandpa took the chihuahua in and hope that she is getting the love and attention she deserves.

| For one thing I think our society has become so selfish and self centered they do not train their kids properly much less their pets. I always say that a person needs to be smarter than the animal to be able to train a pet properly. I think some people think that those cute little pups grow up to be perfectly trained without any human effort. For some reason they always assume the dog can understand English as well. The louder the better. Once they tire of the pet it is easy for them to part with it because they never bonded with the pet to begin with. So sad. |

| It is very sad. I know that even my four year old son (skin baby) understand that Sparky is family. He will threaten to run away with Sparky when my mom would joke around that she will give Sparky away. I love my family..and in other things, they are very compasionate and loving people. I just hope they stay away from owning animals for a very very long time.

| On the phone yesterday with one of my daughters,I was talking about Mina and was very excited. She said "you know Mom she is just a dog". I told her that, that statement had better not come out of her mouth again in my presence. She was kidding,I was not. I happen to be caring for her last furbaby and he misses her so much. Yes our society has become so selfish,me first!,my life and my things are more important than yours. I had a guy in a 1ton pickup change lanes into me last Friday. The front of my stang was even with his back tire and he knew it,he was looking at me in his mirror. Karma will come back around to those that are heartly to animals and other people. It is unfortunate that there are people that have pets and children and dont value the life that they are supposed to be taking care of,then wonder why the kid or pet runs away. |

| [QUOTE=Ahis_Mama;3636887]My mom lives in Ft. Worth and drives a "ruby"(yes she named her) stang. And she is passionate about animals as much as you and I am. I just thought the coincidence was cute. [/QUO My daughter named mine BlkBeauty, guess what color it is. As I sit here with a yorkie on my left leg, poodle sitting almost on the laptop and a pom on my right. At least they will let me type. |

| That is very, very sad. I worked in an animal shelter (no kill shelter) for 5 years and heard all kinds of "reasons" for giving up pets. It was heartbreaking. One puppy was brought in mid January - he was a Christmas present for a young boy and the child hadn't been able to housebreak him, so puppy had to go.
