| Rug shampooers Ruger has done a pretty good number on my bedroom carpet. Fortunately no smell at all (all pee and no poop), but lots of stains. The carpet was new when I moved in but very cheap, and one day I may replace it with some type of tile. Anyway, what do you guys recommend for shampooing carpets? Should I bite the bullet and get a new one at Wal-Mart? How are the machines you rent at the grocery store? I'd bring in a pro, but they are pretty expensive around here. Thanks for the advice. |

| We've always hired Stanley Steemer (do you have those in CO?) to come and clean our carpets. They do a great job.

| We have a Hoover shampoo-er too and it did a great job, that being said about a week later it started smelling worse than before!! Now we have an area the dogs thinks is a restroom!! Ack-yuck!! I am thinking of ripping it up and trying those carpet tiles. Anyone with experience with those? |

| Hoover gets my vote too. Ours just recently broke down after years and I had to rent a rug doctor. Wow - I had a sore back after doing one room. I didn't realize how nice my Hoover was!!!! It is always nice to have your own shampooer. You will shampoo your carpets lots more frequently than if you rented or hired someone. So they stay nice and clean. |
