| A reminder to check OTHER people's houses as well... I am SOOO careful about what is laying around in my house, but don't think as much in other people's houses- today my parents had a big yard sale, so I went over to bring some junk I wanted to get rid of since I don't really live in a yard sale friendly area myself. I took the dogs along and put them in a bedroom in my parents house so they wouldn't be let out by accident with the doors opening and closing. I kind of just tossed them each in a separate bedroom and didn't think twice. They were up there about 2-3 hours when I went to get them to go home. I went in the room Armani was in and sat on the floor to calm him down for a second and I noticed little blue pills- my mother takes morphine for migraines Of course I FREAKED OUT! for good reason I think- she had no idea how many there had been or even how they got there. I was LIVID. I scooped both the dogs up and ran home. Once home I called the ER vet who directed me to Poison control (everyone should have the direct line on their fridge- lesson learned I will from now on, although ER vet was nice enough to give me all the info). Poison Control thinks he probably didn't ingest any- they say his weight combined with the dosage probably would have shown severe symptoms now. They say ER vet can't do anything but monitor him in the meantime so they think he would be better off being monitored at home, especially since I live so close to ER vet. He is not to be left for 12 hours, I already canceled my evening plans to sit with him. Again, they have led me to believe everything should be okay- but obviously if you have any spare vibes to send, they are much appreciated. He is absolutely banned from entering anyone else's house ever again unless he is crated or totally supervised by me the entire time. Trust me- BIG, HUGE lesson learned. I am basically furious at my mother, how can people be irresponsible with medicine- any medications in my home are stored in child proof containers, on a high shelf. I open them over a counter only and take out only what I will be taking right away- she thinks I am overreacting of course. I guess this is part rant/ part reminder to watch your pets everywhere they are- if you read the whole thing, I will send cookies.

| oh I am so sorry you had this terriable experience!! I am had some of the same experiences when my girls were young, like people who don't have dogs or children don't understand. To be honest now that I don't have small children I forget what it is like... so don't be too hard on your mother. I am sure she feels bad now. I just bought a portable soft sided travel crate (I think Jersey boy is the one who posted the info), I plan on using now that I have to "visit" my in law a lot. Hope all is well... glad he did not eat the pills!!

| Oh my gosh! What a shock that must have been! I would have panicked, too. I have the Poison Control number on my fridge and have had to use it once. I will keep him in my prayers and pray that all goes well for the rest of the 12 hours. They said you couldn't induce vomiting or give any other help at all, other than to just watch for symptoms??? Please let us know how he is. Your poor mother must feel really bad.

| Wow that must have been a scare. I am glad he seems to be doing ok and will pray that he continues to do so. Thank you for the reminder to check other peoples houses where your taking your dogs especially if they dont have dogs then there house probably isnt dog friendly.

| OMgosh, I too would have freaked out. I know the waiting is the hardest part, but the experts seems confident he didn't ingest any....so that is a good thing. Sending good thoughts to help carry you through the waiting. Hugs)))

| Oh my goodness, how scary! I'm sure that everything will end up being fine, but it's good that you cancelled your plans. You can't ever be too careful! Thanks for the reminder. I like the idea that Lil Sis had... bringing a travel crate along. I think an open topped baby pen would be great to carry in your trunk to allow your pups the freedom to be with you, but not wandering around in someone elses house.

| I cannot begin to imagine your reaction. Teddy will STICK EVERYTHING IN HIS MOUTH except ANY MEDICINE. I have to coat pills in something and trick him into eating them...maybe your baby is the same? If so, thank GOODNESS Armani just left them there. Keeping you and Armani in my thoughts, Rose

| I can imagine how panicked you were when you found Armani in the room with pills on the floor. I am glad he is showing no symptoms, so I would bet he didn't eat any of them. There are so many hidden dangers and most of the time it is something you would never expect. Keeping Armani in my thoughts and prayers.

| I am so sorry you are had to go thru this. It also brought up alot of sad memories for me. Back in 2003, my 2 1/2 yr old Yorkie Shayleigh, who I waited on for 2 years to get her from a wonderful breeder. We were staying at my Mother In Law's house since we had just moved from Virginia back to Texas. Well my MIL had dropped her Coumadin on the floor, unbeknowest to me. Shayleigh somehow got hold of it. Shay started acting strange and was real wobby and started falling over, I rushed her to Vet we noticed what looked like bruises on her belly. I had no idea at the time what she had gotten hold of. We started her on medication to help clot her blood. We semed to be Ok, and then she starting bleeding out again in the brain. I lost my precious baby to that damn drug. I was mad at MIL, and I never really forgave her. When my MIL passed away 3 years ago, on her death bed she was telling me how sorry she was about my baby. I always preach, please if you take any drug's, please do so away from the dog's and over the sink. It so heart breaking to loose a pet so tragically this way.

| I totally understand your panick, I would have reacted the same. We are so careful about our little ones at home and sometimes just don't think. I am thankful that little Armani is O.K. and I will keep him in my prayers. I agree, as small as he is, you would have seen signs already if he had ingested anything.

| My fiancee dropped 1 of his nerve pills and his Yorkie Nkkie ate it right away , It happened here at my home, I immediately called poison control and they told me to put a little peroxide in a liquid medicine giver device, I immediately put it into his mouth while my fiance was holding him and he threw it up right away. |

| Thanks for the reminder warning and I hope your baby is just fine. It does seem likely if he'd gotten one of those pills, he would have been down pretty quickly. I pray he is okay.
