|  My new baby-Holly Hello everyone! We just got our first dog! She is a 3lb. morkie named Holly. We love her already. We have had her for 3 weeks. Background story: My daughters have been begging for a dog for some time now. I've never been an animal person but I do love my girls so I agreed to a dog provided they got a small dog that didn't shed alot. We have all already fallen in love with her! She is just the sweetest ball of energy! She chases our neighbors 30 lb. Sheltie around like she is a 100 lb dog. It is just so cute! My husband got her at Petland. We were totally uneducated in this. I know now after reading here that is a big no-no. Does anyone have a positive story from purchasing a dog at a petstore? I'm terrified now after reading here. Please understand that we didn't set out to support puppy mills. We thought we were doing right. We love her and hope she will be OK. Thanks for any replies! |

| Congrats on your new baby. Dont worry, I didnt know that petstore puppies supported puppy mills either and I have had 4 dogs in my lifetime. I learned this year over the months researching yorkies. I dont know where I thought they came from but it was a real eye opener. Tge main thing is you love her enough to join YT. Welcome Im new too.

| Congrats on your little girl! Lots of us make mistakes before we are educated enough to know better. Now that you do know better, perhaps you can educate just one more. I remember seeing a documentary on Animal Planet of Petland and it was definitely bad news  I have a 3 year old morkie, Cooper.

| Congrats on your new baby! Hopefully, you are one of the lucky ones and your pup is healthy. I'm glad you've learned something from this experience. You can definitely turn this around and be the one to educate others. Enjoy your baby.

| Hi, congratulations on your new furbaby. Have you taken Holly to the vet yet? Everyone (even those of us who go through breeders) take the dog to the vet just to make sure that everything is ok. Hope to hear an update from you soon

| Congratulations! A friend of mine has a morkie-girl who also came from Petland. She's a sweet little girl and my friend is lucky that she's been healthy so far other than food allergies. I hope your little girl continues to be healthy!

| Owned by Bella & Tibbs Donating Member  | I bought my Tibbs at a pet store I also did not know all the bad  I will never buy form a pet store ever again ....but I love Tibbs he is my baby and he is fine now and I'm so glad I got him in my life!

| Thanks everybody! Yes, I have taken her to the vet. She's gotten a clean bill of health! She had a little issue with a hairy bottom. The hair got matted inside with her poop and formed a hard mass that the poop couldn't pass through. We got that taken care of and her bottom is now shaved and everything is working great! I've enjoyed reading all of the posts here and I will try to post some pics of our sweetie! |

| Welcome, can't wait to see pics of your baby! I have learned that keeping their little behinds clipped short, is called a sanitary trim by the groomers around here. I didn't have a clue, til I owned a Yorkie! Love my babies! Enjoy yours!
