Boy or Girl?

Okay, I have found the perfect breeder who I am really happy with, now it's time to pick the puppy. I currently have an almost 2 year old female, Chloe. She is around 4 1/2 lbs. AKC registered and a real beauty. She has no aggression around my children but she did growl Sunday at a kid at my daughters birthday party who tried to pick her up by the tail. The pups I am looking at are small, AKC registered etc... The male is charting to be 3.5lbs, the female 2.5lbs. My hubby wants a female, he is worried about the spraying. I was hoping for a male because I assumed Chloe would be less jealous with a male. The female is older, she is 16 weeks old, weighs 2lbs, 2oz - the male is 10 weeks old, so he is considerably smaller.

My question to you for those who have more than one Yorkie... do you reccomend a boy/girl combo or would a sister be just as easy for her to adjust to?

I have two male yorkies, one year apart in age. They are both neutered and they absolutely love each other. I have been told that females are more likely to have "tiffs" with one another, but usually it is the unaltered ones that fight. If I were to get another yorkie in the future, more than likely it will be a little girl.

I have a boy and a girl. They are inseparable and I love watching them play together. I really like the girl/boy combination. Can't really say about two girls as I have not experienced that yet. I will be getting another girl though so that'd be a new experience.

My vet told me that the male to fe,ale combo always get along better then two females. I have two females and they do very well together . One is a shih tzu though. But they are the same size, the shih tzu weighs more then our yorkie.

I just got my second female. Rosie is almost 4 years old and Mikki is one year old. At first we had World War III. However, they are adjusting. With that said, we still have our moments. Rosie will randomly make attacks at Mikki. She has never hurt her but it sounds like pit bulls going at it. But I think they love the play time together.

I think it takes time for the adjustment but if you want it bad enough it will work. Just be ready, it is definitely different with two.

I have had two girls in the past and they were a few years apart in age. They got along great. Initially, there was a little snipping, but that is normal for the puppy to learn boundaries. They were both so good natured that they adjusted to each other well. Initially (for the first 6 months) I did not leave them together when I left the house. I put one in the bathroom with a baby gate and the older one had run of the house. One day I came home and caught them together!!! Yes, they were each laying on opposite sides of the gate against each other.

Right now I have a boy and a girl - about 2 weeks apart - and currently 17 and 15 weeks (oh dear, I am worse than mommies who refer to their babies in weeks and months!). My boy is about 2 times as big as the girl. Their moms were 5 and 4.5 pounds so I am hoping she will get a little bigger. Same breeder, same daddy, different mommy - daddy was such a stud - lol.

So far they are getting along great. Potty training is going well - not too much worse than when I just had one. One sees the other getting a treat for going potty on the pad and the other runs to the pad to go too. Other times, one poops and if I am not quick on my toes the other one will run to try to eat it! No, not always heavenly. On the positive, the doggie sitter charges $30 an hour whether I have one pup or two.

My boy is going in to get fixed right at the 6 month mark - almost to the day, but my little girl is going to wait until about 7 months because she is smaller. I am hoping that I will get Max done before he starts lifting his leg to mark.

This is my first time with the boy/girl combo and I have to say I am so glad I gave it a try. They are great together.
