| Well, that was an experience.. So I tried brushing Gizmo's teeth tonight. And let's just say, I'll be having my husband help me next time. I thought I could use the finger tooth brush, but I'm thinking the little brush is a better way to go. Anywho, my question is I want to be proactive with the tooth care. Gizmo likes bully sticks, but I want to give him something before bed that he can work on that'll aide in dental care as well as me just brushing. I know there are Greenies, but I'm not too comfortable with them. I know Merrick, and he loves merrick chews, makes the Texas toothpick. Any reviews on these? Does anyone else use anything? Suggestions? Sorry for the length of post! Can't sleep apparently!

| Pnut use to love bully sticks, until I brought home Texas toothpicks!! IMO those are the only things I will let him chew on, I am too nervous to try anything else!!

Too cute! Thanks though! I'm going to always have a good supply of bully sticks, I just wanted something that helped a little more with the cleaning teeth and I always saw the toothpicks, but never tried them.

You can also get mouthwash at petsmart, and you put a little in their drinking water, that helps too.

| How old is Gizmo? It is best to brush everyday, to get him use to it. The more you brush the better and they get use to it!

| He'll be 7 months the 21. We're going to start doing the brushing every night.

| I'm going to as well. Petsmart didn't have them, gee big surprize, so I'm going to have to go to look around for them.

| I like the Naked Chews - they take awhile to eat and are completely digestible. I also give mine the Nutri-Dent Mini chews. The mini's are smaller than my pinkie and great for my babies. They come in all different sizes, but since mine are still young I do not want to give them anything bigger. Max goes thru his mini in about 3-4 minutes, Abby takes about 5-7. Best of all, they do not have that lovely bully stick smell!! I got Abby and Max the bully springs. Max loves his from the start, Abby was afraid of hers at first and would bark at it until I held it in place for her. Too funny when it would roll away from her. |
