| 109 degrees and AC broke The hottest day so far where I live and the AC decides to break today. I also live in a upstairs APT. I am very worried about my Yorkie and Shih Tzu. I saw them panting .. I gave them a cool bath , and that seemed to make them more comfortable. I notified management about the AC, and hope they fix it tommorow. What else can I do for my babies to keep them cool? I have fans on .. And probably can get a little more relief when it gets dark. I think that if I xool the dogs off with water every couple of hrs. they will be ok. It never has been so hot indoors.

| Oh my goodness!! How awful for you!! Rosie is so sensitive to the heat. I hope that you are able to keep them cool. Praying your A/C is fixed by tomorrow!

| Oh bless your heart!! Why is it that the air or heat always goes out on the hottest or coldest time of the year I recently saw someone post about keeping their babies cool when out walking. They said they put a wet t-shirt on them when they were out walking and it gets hot. You might also try putting ice in their water bowl and drinking the cold water may help. I hope your air conditioning gets fixed tomorrow.

| Inside the temp reads 85. But, it feels hotter. I am sitting here on the computor and sweating .. Those are very good ideas about the ice in their water and wet tee shirts. Since i know I am boiling, my precious dogs have to be uncomfortable. At least they are not panting anymore.. I worry about them more then I , because of all their hair. If anything were to happen to them I would never be able to forgive myself.

| Oh no! Does it cool down much at night there, to where you can open the windows & pull in cool night air by reversing the fans?

| You can buy cooling pads..... they have to be soaked in cold water and then they stay cool for hours..... they may have them at petsmart or petco. I will look online to see if I can find them.

YT Addict | OMG...This just happened to me 2 weeks ago, the air in our home went out and my thremo said 95 inside my house. The first 6 hours I kept taking Gizmo out to my car and we would sit inside in the air to cool off, then hubby said it would not be fixed befor the day was out so I packed up my baby and off to mom in laws home we went. We stayed away for 24 hours until it was fixed. Cynthia

| You might could try the old-fashioned method--put ice cubes in a shallow pan and let the fan blow across it. It might help just a little bit. Good luck with the AC repair. It always seems to happen when you need it the most! |
