| What do I do with the babies? I don稚 know what I should do so I知 turning to YT members for answers. In less then two week I知 going to a big city for a wedding. I will be there for 4 days / 3 nights. I知 taking my two girls with me because I don稚 trust anyone to take care of them. The nicest hotel that I can find in the city that accepts dogs is the Hilton. My grandmother has been telling me for months now not to take the girls because someone will steal them while I知 out of the room. I have been reading about dogs getting stolen for two days now. I知 terrified my girls will get stolen, but I refuse to board them. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep them safe when they are alone in the hotel room?

| Hi There! I frequently travel with my dogs and I do leave them alone in hotel rooms. I think it is important to crate them though- in case housekeeping is not careful and does open the door, you don't want your little one to run out. I also always leave my cell phone number with the front desk with instructions to call with any problems. It has always worked just fine. However, if you are really nervous you could look into having a sitter come to the room and watch them while you are gone. What city will you be in- there may even be a YT member there.

| The "Do NOT Disturb" sign is your friend. Use it whenever you are gone. You can always ask for clean towels anytime. |

| No advice, we have not been anywhere in 2 years because we don't trust anyone to take care of my 4 babies and it cost too much to board them. Very happy staying home with them. We did all our traveling before we got them.

| I bring my ex-pen with me, tell the front desk, NOT to clean the room, but give me extra towels etc and not to go into the room. Works fine. Never had a problem. Of course, this is for overnight stays or two days, not three or four days. Whatever you do crate the dogs while you are gone, just in case someone does go into your room

| When I travel, I hire someone who comes into my home. They make multiple visits during the day and sleep over. My dogs' routines are not interrupted and they do great. I only use professional petsitters who are insured and bonded and do this for a living.

| Due to the nature of my Patrick's job, we sometimes "live" in hotel suites or sometimes we are only there for a few days. He always has an "understanding" about Toto and make sure they are well-informed. All we ever need is the "Do Not Disturb" sign and all the years we have done this, we have never, ever had anyone enter our room unless we allow them. We have even had some that are nice enough to listen at the door while we are out to make sure she isn't upset or crying for us. We also make sure they have our cell numbers just in case they need to contact us. We have never had a problem.

| If we have to leave ours in a hotel room while we run and errand, we do crate them but also post the Do Not Disturb and we have never had a problem. My big worry is that the dogs will go on a barking binge and get ME in trouble!

| I have traveled with Maddie before but we are only staying in a hotel on our way to our final destination: pet friendly rental houses, family member home, etc. I do not feel safe leaving them in the room alone. There is no door lock in the world that makes me feel secure enough to leave her alone in a hotel. Too many people still have access. Signs and locks are great precautions, but not guarantees. I tend to be a bit overboard, but would never leave a child alone in the hotel room alone and think of them the same way. I have left my girls with my mom and still worried, but knew she was not going to be stolen and were being taken care of. I also liked knowing I had an emergency, the girls were in a safe home, not somewhere strange. The professional house visitor is also another great idea. I am in an area where those jobs don't exist, but would have a close friend or family member do this for me. I hope you find a solution you feel comfortable with that keeps your girls safe. | I agree with everyone. A trusted friend or relative, someone comes to your house and stays with them, or Hotel, Crate or Pen, and slip the guy at the dsk a few saw buck to go up and check on them. Enjoy the wedding. |

| We've only done the hotel room thing once for 2 nights and I wasn't totally keen with it. We took them with us when we left in the morning but had to bring them back to the room as they got tired and weired out at the event we were at. I was a nervous wreck until I got back to the room but all was well. I am lucky that I do have a network of family and friends and neighbors that I could count on if needed. I've used a professional pet sitting service when we had the 2 cats and traveled alot-she was wonderful with them and felt totally comfortable.
