| New to Site-- Question about my yorkie Hello! I am new to this site and I have a 1 and 1/2 year old female yorkie! She is our life! Recently, since Monday, she has been having loose stool. Today she even had diaherra. She has been acting normal, eating her food, drinking plenty and playing. I am worried though that this is not normal. Previous to this, she always went in the morning and at night, they were always normal stools. She has not had any change in her diet. I have been giving her plenty of ice cubes and fresh water to prevent dehydration. The last time she had loose stool was about an hour ago and it had some mucus in it. I know yorkies are very prone to tummy problems. Has anyone experienced this? What did you do?? THANKS!! |

| Very common. Because it has been more than a day or two and it isn't getting better, she needs to see her vet tomorrow. If there are any signs of dehydration or the problem gets much worse over night, she'll need to be seen tonight. Welcome to YT.

| I would call the vet as well or maybe just make a check up appt. just to see what's up. It could be any number of things from very low risk to very high risk and you really never know until you see the vet and get those tests done. good luck and keep us posted. |

| Update: Zoey has not had anymore upset tummy. She did go to the bathroom and it was not diaherra. It was a little loose thought. I did call the vet and they said it could numerous things, but since the diaherra has not been consistent and she is not vomiting that there was no need to bring in. I have still been giving her ice chips and she even ate some apple among her normal food! I am going to see how tonight goes along with tomorrow |
