| I've had three female dogs who were all spayed. They all did wonderfully. I'm sure your furbaby will do beautifully. Always know too that your vet is there for a reason so if youre nervous when you take her in tomorrow, tell the vet that. Let them know your concerns. I'm sure they will go over everything and answer any of your questions. I remember when my Cairn Maizey got spayed I was so so so nervous, but I said a prayer, went there the next day, talked to my vet, I felt better leaving her there, basically stayed by my phone until I got the call to pick her up, and wouldn't you know it when I picked her up she was acting like nothing happened. She was still a little spitfire coming out. I pray you and your furbaby will do wonderfully. Hugs and kisses.

| I remember the night before my little girl was spayed, don't focus on what could go wrong. Focus on how much you love each other and all of the wonderful plans you have for her this spring and summer. You came to the right place for support with this matter, good thoughts coming your way.

| Just saw your thread - please update when you can. Am sure she did fine as I personally have never known a dog in my life or family or friends' lives that had spay-surgery complications so the odds are in your girl's favor

| I don't know if this will help or not, but several years ago I realized something that has since helped me a great deal in fearful situations. I used to be afraid to fly ~ not so much during the flight, but was absolutely terrified during take-off and landing. I wasn't so much afraid of a crash as the loss of the life I have with my husband, or worse, losing him or him being injured. Absolutely terrified. On one flight, the fear, tears, etc., started to well up inside me and somehow, I realized (or was told, depending on your beliefs), that there were only two possible outcomes: either the plane would indeed go down, or it would not. The better result was far more likely, but IF the bad thing happened, then in that moment, I would instantly be able to access all the fear, etc - it would be there ( I wouldn't have to go looking for it ) at the right time. Other than a prayer before we took off, I would have absolutely no control over what might happen. Of course, just as you have chosen a good vet, taken good care that your pup is healthy, etc., we had chosen a reputable airline, etc. If nothing bad happened, then I was putting myself through misery and pain with my unnecessary terror. I was actually LOOSING precious time that I could have enjoyed holding my husband's hand, flipping though Skymall, happily planning for and anticipating the next day . . . If the bad thing happened, all the fear and pain would come to me then. I didn't need to feel it NOW, when nothing bad had happened. This sounds so overly simplistic as I type . . . I think I'm going to pull this off the message board and send it as a PM instead. I can't explain how or why it helps ~~ but I can assure you that it HAS helped me in many different personal situations, not just on an airplane. I hope it helps you as well. |

| Thanks everyone!! your messages really comforted me!!! i dropped off my baby this morning and i called like a hundred times to check on her while i am here at work... She was the 1st surgery of the day, the nurse said she did great and they just called me about 40 minutes ago, she is waking up, they say she is still kind of sleepy but will be ok, the doctor prescribe some pain relievers, and said i can pick her up after 4:30pm (is 1:00pm over here).... i can't wait to see my angel!! i am going to kiss her sooo many times she is gonna be like "momma you are embarrassing yikes!".... again, thanks everyone!!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Glad it went well. I understand your fears. I have the same one just thinking about having Tallulah spayed. Never was a question of if, but when, and I know it's the best thing to do, but that doesn't make it easier when the time actually comes, does it? |

| Glad you stepped up and got your girl spayed and now don't have years of heat to deal with, let alone possible cancer, pregnancy. Your baby now can just always be a funloving pet and won't have to deal with the risk of pregnancy and whelping. That is a big risk for a small little Yorkie girl. Glad everything turned out fine.

| I'm glad all went well. It's probably normal that she doesn't want to eat. If you are worried about that, call the vet just to be sure. Sending get well hugs!! |
