| Dewclaw ripped off Well last night Callie's front dewclaw broke really short and ripped off and her vein is actually hanging out of it. It wasnt bleeding bad but I put corn starch on it and made sure the bleeding stoped and wrapped it until we could call the vet asap this morning. Well we have an appointment in an hour and a half. I feel so bad for Callie because I can tell it is hurting a bit. I definitely did not sleep much last night. I am not sure what they are going to do because this has never happened to us before. Please keep us in your thoughts.

| She will be well in no time, but sorry to hear she had this booboo.... I was grooming a Yorkie for a client one time and cut off a back claw, not realizing it was under all that soft coat...the Yorkie jumped and then I saw a spot of blood...in an hour I could barely tell it was cut...the owner said I should have snipped the other off...her vet wanted $200..I delcined... |

| That has got to hurt I would guess they will probably put a stitch in. I just don't understand breeders that do not remove dew claws. Problems like this are painful and would be avoided. When my boys were neutered I also had their dew claws removed. I hope that Callie is feeling better quickly.

| Back from the vet, they sedated Callie and then trimmed back the nerve and vein that had not gotten pulled off with the nail. She is sleeping now but every once in a while she will sit up, walk wobbly a few feet, and sit there about to fall over and I take her back over to her bed and lay her back down and she goes back to sleep. I was holding her as long as I could but my arm started going numb and I think she is getting better sleep on her pillow right now nice and tucked in. Thanks every one for the thoughts and prayers.

| Oh, that sounds painful as all get out!!! Poor Callie! Thank God she is treated and getting well and has some pain relief as those things are connected to nerves! I hope she sleeps through the worst of the post-op pain, poor little baby. Thank goodness you took her in and got treatment ASAP.

| Poor baby I'm sure she will be feeling much better tomorrow after she sleeps off the anesthesia.
