| Even though its a water pill I would still take her to the emergancy vet if your vet is closed. Better safe than sorry. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Call the nearest ER vet. Lasix over doses can cause serious issues. What happens if I overdose the pet: Seek emergency veterinary medical attention if you believe you have given your pet too much medication. Symptoms of furosemide overdose may include loss of appetite, weakness, dizziness, confusion, fainting. http://www.1800petmeds.com/Furosemide-prod10083.html It can cause seizures, electrolyte imbalances and irregular heart beat.

| Her becoming so dyhydrated is what I was worried about. I hope since you haven't answered back it means you have taken her in to the emergancy vet. Please, please don't second guess this. It could mean her little life. |

| I hope your little girl is doing ok after getting your Lasix. When dogs are prescribed this for heart failure they are usually prescribed 2.5-5 mg for a 5-10 lb dog. 40 mg is is so much more that I worry about your girl. Please let us know how she is doing today. Teresa |

| I take 40mg of Lasix 3 times a week, and it often makes me feel weak, dizzy and dehydrated, so I can only imagine the repercussions for your little one. Did you call poison control or get her into the vet? Please let us know how she is doing.
