| Daughter cut off his top knot :( Ugh, I was just paying bills and making some appointments, and my daughter apparently got her little safety scissors and cut half of Finn's top knot off. So it's real short above his left eye, and still long above his right eye. It had just gotten long enough to pull back. Would you just cut it all to make it even, or leave it and let it grow. I'm so sad...that's gonna take forever to re-grow. |

| I am so sorry your little girl did that. How old is she? I don't know what to tell you, but when I was a little girl, I had a cat that I dearly loved. He was my baby and I dressed him up in onsies and strolled him around in a stroller. Well, one day, I thought my baby needed a "first hair cut" and I cut off his wiskers! My parents were not happy, but lets just say, it became one of my more memorable childhood experiences.......

I would talk to your daughter and tell her that what she did was unsafe and make sure she knows not to do it again..As for your Finn's hair I would try to make it look even.. Its just hair, it will grow back. |

| OMYorkie! I keep all art supplies in a roller cart (pens pencils, markers, crayons, paints, SAFETY SCISSORS in the top small drawers, and paper and craft stuff in the bottom two larger) ya know one of those clear plastic on wheels deals with four drawers you get them at Target Kmart etc...Sterilite 4 Drawer Storage Cart White : Target I KEEP THE CART IN MY BEDROOM_where the kids (yes even my 11 year old-especially my 6 year old even though both know better) have to get it roll it out to the living room to use at the table supervised...stuff happens and we learn to compensate with safety measures if we don't already have those things in place... Glad to hear it was a top knot cut off and not an eye poked out... Hope you consider making the necessicary safety measures and really talk to your child about animal treatment and care-I had to teach my son to back off when he freaked out a lady for spraying her dog with a water bottle-he told her she needed to know better than to treat him like that-he was 4 then Last edited by concretegurl; 03-01-2011 at 09:30 AM. | I'd even it out. I had to cut Lucy's topknot not too long ago; I left it in too long and when I took the bows and bands out . . it was still in the shap of the topknot! I tried brushing and conditioners . . but didn't want to hurt her. Took her to the groomer's and they did cut her a little visor and the rest of her head. NOW, though, it's starting to grow out and not sure what I'm going to do; she's looking raggedy! Anyway, that will give you a short term fix.

| Oh man, got to love the scissor stories. I'm glad we didnt have a dog growing up because I sure did a number to my hair and all my barbie's . It will grow back quickly but I would even it out. He may look a little funny while it's in the growing stage but it's just hair!
