| Zoey is shedding really bad help? Zoey is 17 months old. I have her groomed regularly and she's eating normally. However, she has started shedding a LOT! This morning there was little clumps of hair in her bed, and when I brush her I have to clean the brush out, because of all the hair that comes out. You can pretty much just run your hand through her coat and have a handful. She does not have and bald spots, and no change in behavior. Any suggestions?

| here's a link that discusses allergies Yorkie Dogs Health Issues - Allergies Does she have any sores? There are several reasons she could be losing hair...eczema, ringworm...etc.. But most common are food allergies....especially to lower rated dog foods...even if she's been eating the same food for a long time..dogs can develop allergies.. Here's a dog food ratings guide...look up the food you feed and see how it rates... highest quality is 5 stars. Dog Food Reviews | Dog Food Ratings

| This happened to my Zoe, exactly like that. First thinning on the head, then little tufts of hair falling out and LOTS of hair in the brush...'til she finally looked like she was almost bald. In fact, her legs did end up completely bald. She did not have sores, round bald spots, nor any itching and it turned out to be ringworm! It took the specialist dermatology vet to find it and my regular vet was shocked. I hope that's not what it is, as it was a royal pain to treat and clean EVERYTHING in our home. But, she's doing great now, thank goodness. Hope your little Zoey is soon better, too!

| Vet check I would say to be on the safe side...take her to the vet. Lots of good ideas as to what it is, but to be safe, the vet will probably have to do a stool and blood sample. Good luck!
