Senior Yorkie Talker | its uber long lol Oh kay so i have been looking to buy a yorkie for a minute now. I came across a yorkie breeders website (im not going to give out her information) but anyways from reading the website, and all the general information she gives i decided to email her. So i did. I informed her on how i was looking to buy a yorkie. She informed me about herself and breeding experience. Let me know when new litters was due and what puppies were available at that moment........ So trying to make along story short. I have decided to buy a Yorkie which was born about a week and a half ago. (Obviously not getting it until late February) but plan on making my deposit later today.... Here is what i know and this is what information i was given. let me know what you think???? 1. She will be sending me personalized pictures of the puppy every Monday until she is 10 weeks old. 2. The puppy will be registered, current on all her shots, comes with a health guarantee, a puppy package is included (some food, blanket, etc) 3. Shipping is available, but i only live a couple of hours away so ill be picking up the puppy. When i do she is going to let me meet the puppies parents, and see where her dogs/puppies are kept. 4. The only pre- payment that will be made is for the small amount of $100.00 (just to verify that i am buying the puppy) the remaining amount will be payed when i pick up the puppy. 5. She comes with references, but can you really trust personal references? 6. She has been very helpful and informative on caring for the puppy after we bring her home. 7. I also have her email, home address, and personal phone number. ------ Im sure theres more that i should be saying but all together i just get a very trustful, loyal type of dog breeder vibe. However since i am buying from a person i dont know, and with as many people out there not to be trusted. I thought i would just get everbodies opinion!!!!!!! THANK YOU |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I have replied to your PM. But I also think if possible you should post the message you sent me into this thread, as there are many members here who are a lot more experienced then me and they will be able to help you more.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | This is the OP's origional question, can anyone help?: I guess it too long it still has to be monitored... but this is my question i have tried to post 4 times. | If it were me, I'd want to meet her in person & see her dogs BEFORE deciding to purchase a puppy from her. I know it's said a lot on here, but you buy your breeder first, then your pup. So, I wouldn't jump into placing a deposit until I was 100% comfortable with the breeder & that includes meeting her in person and seeing how her dogs live. Anyone can say anything via internet and email.

I think the OP should visit the breeders home before putting down a deposit. What happens if you get there and the place is horrible? you will have lost your deposit. I also think you need to post the website of the breeder and her health guarentee for people to help you futhur. You say the health guarentee is for 6 months but some things take longer then that to show up, a good breeder will stand by their pups forever.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Yes i understand fully, which is why im asking you guys what you think. Especially with all these internet scams that go on. The only thing is that its a 4 hour drive lol, and i know that should be no excuse if we wont a healthy (real) puppy. But idk. Ive just read a lot of what to look for when it come to picking out puppy mills and puppy scam artists. and she does not fit the descriptions at all. She is very willing to answer any questions that we have asked without trying to go around or kinda half answer them. She is very willing to show us her dogs and the living condition they are in. Ugh this is so difficult. Our deposit is only 100$ so if it does turn out to be a scam that isnt too bad of an amount to loose ( i mean it coild be a lot more ) and even then we can dispute it with our bank!?! |

What exactly does her health guarantee state? 6 months is not the general "norm".
