| Should I trash Bailey's favorite toy? I'm wondering if any one has had this situation, the toy in the photo has been with Bailey since I brought him home at 9.5 weeks, He is now 20 months old. Bailey loves this toy to pieces, it is the only thing he humps The problem is it's very icky now, raggedy, thread bare and blah It's been washed so many times, I've bought replacements, one in the same color and another in a different color and Bailey cannot be bothered with the new ones. I've taken away his fave toy and he cries and whines until I give it back, I want to trash the toy so bad, but I feel guilty! Have you all throw out your fur kids favorite toys, and if so, did they forget about them once they were gone?

| Very good question. I would love to hear the answers. Mine don't have that special toy. They like all of them. My neighbor's yorkie cries when mommy washes hers. She even takes it to bed. |

| rub the new toys to the old one and stick all three in a ziplock bag so that the sent will spread if that does not work then tie them all up in pillow case and toss them in the dryer(don't wash them first) and let them tumble for a a few min that should spread the scent and he will play with the new toys and don't throw away his favorite toy keep it in a safe place that way years down the road you can take it out of a box and smile

| I will never throw away Callies favorite and she would probably actually sit and cry for it if I did and probably look for it constantly but I would just feel way to bad about it too. Hers doesn't even squeak anymore but she still totes it around and everything. If my mom had thrown away my stuffed animal I had sense I was a baby because it was ratty I would be sad (I still have it and she still has her childhood stuffed animal). I dont think you should throw it away.

| Sandy's favourite toy is 'Sheepie'... I bought that for him when he's 15 weeks old. Now he's 16 months old and we have bought him other toys but Sheepie is the only thing he brings with him when he wants us to play with him. And it's the only thing he humps too |

| I have had to throw away some of Armani's favorite toys- he is very destructive and will sometimes start EATING toys- like actually swallowing pieces which is obviously dangerous. He looks for a few seconds and then honestly finds something new and is over it. I keep a huge toy box of brand new toys and whenever an old toy needs to be thrown away they get something from the "new toy box". As long as something is not dangerous to him I let him keep it as long as possible. I try to only buy toys he can't be destructive with- but all the toys that are made to be super durable he wants nothing to do with. |

| I wouldn't throw away his favorite toy unless it becomes dangerous; like he is ripping it apart or something.

| It isn't ripped, but it's becoming thread bare, I keep checking it to make sure there is no stuffing exposed!

| That one looks like it still has lots of life left in it I have a couple of raggedy ones I don't want to even take a pic of. But I am like you, reluctant to throw away one they really like. Ben loves to take his toys outside. It is like he is afraid to go out the door without a toy in his mouth. So, his really take a beating and need extra laundry. He usually makes the choice for me. He will have a toy for months - years and then suddenly one day he shreds it to pieces. Then finally, I can throw it away.

| Doodlebug has one toy that is his very favorite. He's normally super destructive when it comes to anything with stuffing~he love to kill it, pull out off the stuffing and leave a mess. But he has one that I call his baby. It's really small and he's had it since he was a baby. He'll carry it around in his mouth, whine and cry while trying to hide it in the couch cushions. He's going to be 3 yrs old in April and it is getting pretty icky but I have no plans of tossing it. But if he did start to pull out the stuffing I would be forced to toss it into the trash.
