| The first 2 weeks with my yorkie The first two weeks with my yorkie have gone pretty well. I could do without the awfully cold weather we have had which makes it awful to take him outside to go potty. Jasper quicky learned the phrase "MAKE IT SNAPPY!" He took quite well to his crate that he sleeps in at night. I tried to get him to go on pee pads at night, but he was more focused on just going on the bathroom tile. Yuck! So one night I put the pad on a tray in the tub and he immediately figured it out then since he didn't want to walk around in the tub. The best thing I bought for him was a big pop up exercise pen that I can keep beside me in one of my carpeted rooms. That way he has a place to sleep & play, but doesn't have the chance to go potty on my carpet. He's discovered that the bathroom comes with this neat play toy on the wall called toilet paper. Oh boy! But better yet, if he shakes the Christmas tree, there's no telling what neat "toy" will fall out! Jasper is quite a picky eater. I've yet to find something he loves. I'm still working through the bags & cans I bought with info from the breeder. He likes dry food thrown one by one on the floor so he can chase them in the morning and night he's a wet food man... prefering chicken and rice. Sighs. I keep having to remind myself that he doesn't put food away like my other two dog since he doesn't even weigh 3 lbs! |

| Hi and welcome to YT, I'm sure that every single one of us around here have a picture similar with the one you posted. Is seams that Yorkies love paper shredding. Throwing kibble so your puppy can run and "kill" it is also common. I also find it an excellent exercise when the weather is bad and I can't walk them. I throw kibbles, they run to catch them and after 20 minutes they are both fed and tired! Maria |
