Senior Yorkie Talker | WINTER = Snow + Salt First major snowfall yesterday....Lexi's first snowfall... She ran in the snow trying to catch snowflakes...it was hilarious. Anyways...I'm just concerned...I know snow is melted away by salt. What measures should I take so that she doesn't digest anything while she's outdoors or indoors. Indoors, it's hard because I live with my parents and sisters. They will walk in and out on the entrance mat with their shoes and I'm sure there will be salt absorbed into the mat. (We don't have a separate entrance where we can leave our shoes, nor do we have a garage where we can store it. The only place to put shoes is as soon as we enter). Shoes + Jacket??? Really necessary??? any ideas?

| I know there is a type of salt that is supposed to be 'pet friendly' so you may want to look into that. We had a ton of snow last year and I never used booties or anything, he never seemed to need them, but I do put a jacket on him the majority of the time, he is 15lbs but he still gets cold after a bit!

| We've so much snow here. We never leave home without a jacket in winter but he's not wearing any shoes. I always wash his paws after our walk and apply Vaseline on his paws and give him a little massage. |

| Sammy always wears a sweater or coat in the winter when he goes out. I wipe his feet when he comes in. We use (I can't think of the name of it) some white stuff that melts the ice and is supposed to be safe for pets, kids and not ruin the concrete. But I wipe his feet off with a damp towel anyway when he comes in. |
